Racing along with the Northwest Wingless Tour at Sunset Speedway Park on Saturday June 20th were the Pure Stocks, IMCA Sport Mods, and 4-Bee divisions. The “Banks Bullring” would host Premier Community Bank-Habitat For Humanity Night with a great crowd in attendance.
After getting caught up in a bad wreck a few weeks ago Trevor LaBarge, of Forest Grove, managed to get back to his winning ways. It would be the third time that the DVC Machine/Pure Addiction Diesel Performance/S&R Motorz/Courtesy Auto Body #7 Camaro, of LaBarge, has won in 2015.
Battle Ground, Washington's Michael Melton would be very fast in the IMCA Sport Mod feature. Unfortunately the Dan Jones Conveyor Trucks/Deanna Melton Reality/Hollywood's Custom Design/M&M Racing #04 Prro, of Melton, would get caught up in a late race incident causing him to forfeit the lead. That position would be obtained by Pamela Graham, in her Perfection Automotive/21st Century Towing/Meyers Auto Body/Freeman Tile #12X FR1, and the Vancouver, Washington driver would go on to win for the second time this year.
Finally the 4-Bee's would see a fantastic show in the main event. The Wolfe Racing #8 entry of William Wolfe would hold back all competition including Forest Grove's Chris Batalgia, driving the Sweere's Trucking/Auto-Inter Automotive/O'Reilly's Auto Parts #38 Dodge Neon , who was doing his best to beat Wolfe. Wolfe got the job done though and made his appearance in victory lane.
Next for Sunset Speedway Park is Fan Appreciation Night presented by Rockstar Energy Drink. This event will be main events only and will feature the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series, Budweiser IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, 4-Bee's, the Northwest Dwarf Cars, and both classes of Micro Sprints. And don't forget the meet and greet session after opening ceremonies where all cars will be parked on the track and the crowd given a chance to get up close and personnel with their favorite race car drivers.
Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 4:00, and racing starts at 6:30. Tickets for this event are Adults $13.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-18) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a family pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
