Banks, Oregon- Looking for something to this weekend in the Portland Metro area? Then check out Sunset Speedway Park on Saturday July 25th for 98.7 The Bull Night at the race. The “Banks Bullring” will be hosting some the best action you can find in the local area. Classes in competition include the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series, IMCA Sport Mods, 4-Bee's, and both classes of Micro Sprints.
The Northwest Extreme Late Model Series has visited SSP five times in 2015. Greg Walters has won the last two events at Banks including the Firecracker 100 on Independence Day. Joey Tanner, Dave Walters, and Jason Johnson all have one each.
In IMCA Sport Mod competition Pam Graham has managed to win the most victories in the current campaign. Jim Potter has been triumphant twice while Michael Melton has visited victory lane just once.
The 4-Bee's are back after some time off. Chris Batalgia has reigned supreme with five wins. William Wolfe and Damion Owen have two wins each while Captain Turnabout and Travis Koch one-time winners.
Both classes of Micro Sprints will be on the card. The Micro Opens have had six races with six different winners. That list includes Jake Tupper, Jeff Broadwell, Chance Crum, Jake Mann, Tanner Holm, and Derek Torkelson. In the Restricted class Ashleigh Johnson leads the win chart with her three wins over Colby Thornhill, Jesse Schlotfeldt, and Ben Silliker who have all managed one win each.
Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 4:00, and racing starts at 6:30 each night. Tickets for both events are Adults $13.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-18) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a family pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
