River City & Sunset Speedways Pair up for the 2nd year of the 4 Bee Challenge

In 2016 River City and Sunset Speedways worked together to help one another increase their 4-cylinder division by creating the 4-Bee Challenge between the two venues. Last year both tracks had car counts in the high 20’s, this was a fantastic car count for short track facilities like these two who usually only start 16 cars in the main. The first race at Sunset Speedway brought twenty-nine cars and was one of the best races. Two out of the four races went green, white, checkered. This challenge idea was such a hit that both venues have brought it back for a second year. This year each track will host 3 races each, making the challenge a total of 6 races for the 2017 season.
“When CT Brownlow, president of River City Speedway, brought this idea up last year, I thought it was going to be good. I was sure wrong; this idea of his was GREAT! So many local 4 cylinder drivers travelled between the two tracks, it was such a surprise when the first race produced 29 cars in this division.” Stated Nikki Gamell, Manager of Sunset Speedway, “We all know racing is fun and we are all excited to be able to participate, but when two tracks work together and create a challenge between the two venues it just brings a whole new excitement to the drivers participating. Not only are they excited to do the best they can at their local home track for that championship, but now they are also excited to be able to travel to be a part of a second championship between the venues. There was so much excitement in this division last year and all the drivers were so thrilled to be a part of this challenge. Some had never ventured to the other track involved and really had a blast. If you are a 4-cylinder driver I highly encourage you to try this challenge out, you won’t be disappointed. I look forward to seeing this challenge grow each year and looking forward to more green, white, checkered races this season.”
The Top 10 4-Bee drivers who participate in all 6 races will be eligible for the $1000-dollar challenge year end points fund. You can find the year end top 10 break down below. Sunset and River City Speedways are excited to work together to help build the 4-bee class between the two tracks. Both tracks will also be working on additional sponsorships to add to the points fund.
“River City Speedway is excited to team with Sunset Speedway to bring back the 4 bee challenge for a second year. Last year was a test to try to boost the car count for both tracks in the 4-cylinder division, and give drivers a chance to race at another track, the test was a complete success.“ stated CT Brownlow, President of River City Speedway. “Both tracks had a great car count, and the drivers all had a blast, one of the races actually went green, white, checkered. We look forward to the second year, and have added another race at each track for a total of 6, 3 at each track. I, also encourage all the 4 cylinder drivers to join in the challenge this season, we are looking forward to seeing you.”
Sunset and River City Speedways hope to see all you 4-Bee drivers at all the challenge races, so mark your calendars!
