NEW EVENTS & PROMOTIONS HIGHLIGHT MONTH OF JUNE INCLUDING THE RETURN OF MODIFIEDS
YORK HAVEN, PA (May 31, 2020) – BAPS Motor Speedway will open the month of June a little different than normal after a late start to the 2020 racing season which will now feature a wide variety of divisions including the return of Modified this Saturday June 6.
The month of June will kick off with the Greg Hodnett Foundation race this Thursday June 4, featuring the 410 Sprint Cars racing for $4,000 to win and the Super Sportsman series competing in their first Super Sportsman tour Point race.
All eyes will then shift to Saturday night when the modified’s will make a rare appearance racing for $3,000 to win & $250 to start in the Meyers RV Superstore Night along with Late Models and Legends. The Modifieds will follow the spec sealed 358 rules followed by Big Diamond & Grandview Speedways. Several drivers have already put their names in the hat to compete Saturday including 4-time track champion Jeff Strunk and Billy Pauch Jr.
“Modfieds at BAPS (Susky) has been a tradition over the years and bringing them back on a Saturday night is great and I look forward to competing in it” said Billy Pauch Jr.
“The start of the 2020 racing season has certainly been a challenge for everyone, and we want to give our fans some excitement”, said Kolten Gouse.
Everyone in attendance at these events will be required to sign a waiver before entering the track acknowledging the risks involved in attending a large event during the COVID-19 pandemic or can present their green ticket if they have already signed the waiver. The waiver is available on BAPS Motor Speedway website, www.bapsmotorspeedway.com, and fans are encouraged to bring a signed copy of the wavier with them to limit contact with track employees upon arrival. Every fan in attendance will receive a ticket to bring along to future races verifying they have already filled out the COVID-19 waiver.
Due to social distancing guidelines, the speedway will only be permitted be open to fans at a limited capacity. A plan is in place to accommodate reserved seat holders and social distancing guidelines. A reserved seat holder gate will open at 4:30 p.m. at the tunnel a half hour before general admission gates open. In that hour track employees will work with reserved seat holders on finding a seat in the grandstands that adheres to the social distancing guidelines in place. Reserved seat holders will be required to show their reserved seat card for early entrance.
Fans are encouraged to bring exact change with them as an additional measure to limit contact points at the ticket booths. No coupons will be accepted this week to limit contact with employees.
The track will have a limited number of masks available for purchase at the novelty stand. Speedway management are taking precautionary measures to ensure a safe environment for fans, participants, and employees as they make the return to racing. If you are displaying symptoms of COVID-19 and/or are not feeling well, we ask that you please stay home.
BAPS Motor Speedway concession stands will be closed but will offer several food trucks on site that will be selling food and drinks. Driver Payout will be mailed for the first couple weeks of racing with proper W-9 forms completed.
Fans are encouraged to wear a mask, social distance, follow CDC guidelines, bring a signed copy of the waiver and use exact change when possible.
