Red Robin Returns as Kids Club Sponsor in 2022
YORK HAVEN, PA - Racetracks across the country continue to search for new ways to bring kids through the front gate, in hopes of making them new fans.
Kolten Gouse, general manager at BAPS Motor Speedway, made that a focus several years ago and that led to the development of a Kid’s Club, which provided different activities at the speedway for kids 12-under.
The initiative was a huge success, as more than 2,200 kids participated in events in 2019, followed up in 2020 with the year of covid nearly 2,570 kids turned out for events at the track. The management team came out with new activities for the 2021 racing season and saw the largest 12 & under kid turnout at the speedway with 3,372 kids participating during the season.
To do so, Gouse has renewed the partnership with Red Robin — Lehigh Valley Restaurant Group, Inc. The two entities have collaborated to put together ten events that will make the Kid’s Club a fixture for the 2022 season.
“When we looked at our 12-under age group last season, the numbers showed a major increase in kids from previous years,” Gouse said. “We wanted to take a major step and make the Kid’s Club even bigger and better this season, with more activities.
The Red Robin Kid’s Club gets started on April 16 with an Easter Egg Hunt. Two years ago, 600 kids participated in the event and collected 7,000 eggs.
On April 30, the speedway will hold a $500 coin scramble at intermission, with an ice cream and snow cone special on Saturday June 4. During Monster Truck madness the kids will participate in a $1000 Coin Scramble which will be held on June 17.
A pair of events take place on July 9 and August 6. The first is Kids Bus rides on the speedway and will follow up with the annual Kid’s Night promotion, which will feature bike races. The final three events will include Free Pizza Slice to every kid that attends the August 20 event, Kids Pumpkin Carving and candy scramble on Saturday September 17and the last event on the year will be the annual Kids Trick-or-treat on Saturday October 15.

Gouse and friends have visited a Red Robin location on many occasions since the group became involved in dirt-track racing. He saw the kid-friendly atmosphere and promotion and knew it would be a good fit for BAPS Motor Speedway and the Kid’s Club program.
“I’m thrilled to have Red Robin — Lehigh Valley Restaurant Group, Inc.share the same vision as BAPS Motor Speedway,” Gouse said. “It’s great to have them on board as the sponsor of the Red Robin Kid’s Club.
“It makes sense for both parties. More important, Red Robin — Lehigh Valley Restaurant Group, Inc. is a reputable company that participates in dirt-track racing and is heavily involved with kid’s programs. Not only is it critical for the growth of dirt-track racing, but it’s also a way to give back to kids in the area.”
