BAPS Releases 2024 Nine-Race 410 Sprint Car Schedule
YORK HAVEN, Pa.: Central Pennsylvania is known for Sprint Car racing, and BAPS Motor Speedway has become a big part of the landscape in the region.
On the heels of a successful season, the York Haven, Pa., facility has put together an interesting schedule for 2024 that is highlighted by nine Sprint Car dates, including a return visit by the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.
“Sprint Car racing is the biggest draw in central Pennsylvania,” BAPS Motor Speedway General Manager Kolten Gouse said. “It’s important for us to be a part of that and give fans another venue to see one of dirt-track racing’s premier divisions.
“I think BAPS Motor Speedway is unique. It’s not as small as some other places, but there are times it races like a short track. There always seems to be a battle somewhere in the field during a main event, and I think the guys like coming here.”
The first visit by the 410 Sprint Cars takes place on March 24 and is sponsored by Pressurized H2O. The program will also feature the 358 Sprints with a start time of 4 p.m.
A pair of programs highlight the April schedule. McSherrystown Moose Lodge Night on April 14 will feature the 410 Sprints, 358 Late Models and Wingless Super Sportsman. Two weeks later, the 410 Sprints will join the 358 Modifieds on Spring Valley Mulch Night on April 28.
After a short break, the 410 Sprints return for UPMC Night presented by CH Recovery on May 19. The event is a preview to one of the top events on the schedule, Engler Machine and Tool Pennsylvania Speedweek presented by Hoseheads.com on June 30. The Super Sportsman are also on the program.
A year ago, David Gravel wowed the crowd in a thrilling World of Outlaws victory over Brad Sweet. He will get a chance to back up the win when the series visits the track on July 24 for the Bricker’s French Fries Bash.
“It was important to bring Speedweek and the World of Outlaws back to the speedway,” Gouse said. “Both shows were really good last year, and we hope to build on both events in 2024.
“The World of Outlaws brand is huge in this sport. Bringing the series to your track shows that you are doing something right, and it’s really expanded the footprint of BAPS Motor Speedway, both locally and on a national level.”
The prestigious HVAC Distributors Inc. Kevin Gobrecht Classic is back on September 21. There is a twist to this year’s event, as Twin 20s for the 410 Sprints will headline. The Super Sportsman will also be on the program.
A pair of shows complete the season. The EK Services Britton Finkenbinder Memorial presented by Denk Electric featuring the 410 Sprints, Wingless Super Sportsman, and Extreme Stocks takes place on Oct. 26. Three weeks later, the Heavy Equipment and Loaders Sprint Showdown caps the season with a show of 410 Sprints, 358 Modifieds, and Enduro 50.
Eight of the nine 410 Sprint Car shows can be seen on SprintCarUnlimited.TV. The July World of Outlaws event will be on DIRTVision.
“We’ve had a successful relationship with SprintCarUnlimited.TV,” Gouse said. “Pay-Per-View/Streaming have become an important part of this sport, and they have done a good job bringing our races to fans who can’t be at the track.
“We are excited for the start of the 2024 season. We feel we have a good schedule in place and are anxious to kick off another year of racing at BAPS Motor Speedway.”
