Pierce lands Top-5 finish in Fall Nationals stop at Tazewell Speedway
Debuting in the Mastersbilt House Car No. 71 Late Model, Pierce McCarter invaded Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) on Saturday night to kick off the Labor Day weekend with the Schaeffer’s Fall Nationals. Drawing 23 cars for the Rockin’ with the Stars Hall of Fame 100, McCarter secured his spot into the opening night feature with the fourth fastest lap in his time trial group. With $5,000 on the line, Pierce faded four spots in the 40-lapper to place 11th.
The following night at Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tenn.) for the Buddy Rogers Memorial, Pierce laid down the fourth fastest time in his qualifying group, which positioned him seventh on the starting grid for the $4,400-to-win finale. Clawing forward two spots in the 44-lap affair, McCarter notched a fifth place finish behind Donald McIntosh, Ryan King, Aaron Guinn, and Dakotah Knuckles. (Michael Moats photo)
With the first two events in the books, Pierce sits fourth in the Fall Nationals point standings.
