We are honored to receive the Small Business Achievement Award from the Great Lakes Bay Regional Chambers at the 2018 Chamber Summit. We never could have built the track up where it is today without our many partners, team members, volunteers and drivers who contribute to the success of Tri-City Motor Speedway and helping to keep dirt track racing alive in Auburn.

Thank You.
Steve & Erika Puvalowski

“After almost 60 years of racing in Auburn, Tri-City Motor Speedway was shuttered and sat vacant for many years.

In 2009, then 24-year-old Steve Puvalowski purchased the track at an auction, with an unstoppable work ethic, a passion for racing, and his sights set on what the future could look like. After extensive renovations, the new Tri-City Motor Speedway was reborn in June 2011 as a 3/8-mile dirt oval race track.

Since that opening day in 2011, the track has become an economic force and an entertainment hot-spot in the Auburn area. With a commitment to community and giving back, the track provides quality weekly entertainment for all ages.

The current owners have introduced programs to reward kids for volunteering, a college scholarship and even a race involving local pastors that has raised over $100,000 for local charities.

Economically, the races bring thousands of people to Auburn every year where some local businesses have to increase staff and stock on Friday nights.

In 2017 alone, over a quarter of a million dollars was paid out to race car drivers, thousands of dollars of in-kind donations have been given to local nonprofits, and the 40 part-time employees are paid wages that directly benefit our communities.

Owners Steve and Erika make it a point to be involved regionally as the track draws people from all over Michigan. Making connections and developing community partnerships has been one of the key ways this start-up business has reached success. It is no doubt with their hard work and continued commitment to quality, Tri-City Motor Speedway will continue to be an entertainment staple in the Great Lakes Bay Region.”
