Podium finish in Southern Nationals stop at Tri-County

On Friday afternoon, Dale McDowell returned with the Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals at Tri-County Racetrack (Brasstown, N.C.) for the North Carolina State Championship. Earning the ninth-starting position for the $4,053-to-win A-Main via his qualifying effort, Dale advanced forward six spots in the 40-lapper to register a third-place finish, following David Payne and Cory Hedgecock across the line. Shawn Chastain and Donald McIntosh completed the Top-5 finishers.

Saturday night's Spring Nationals event at Mountain View Raceway (Spring City, Tenn.) fell victim to Mother Nature.

Dale holds a 16-point advantage over Cory Hedgecock in the Spring Nationals point standings.
