MWRA Heats Up At US36 Friday Night!
Osborn, Missouri: This Friday Night July 21st the Wholesale Batteries USAC MWRA Sprint Car Series returns to action at US 36 Raceway on “The Road To A Championship” for 2023!
Friday nights program will feature both the MWRA and the IMCA Sprint Cars with the grandstand opening at 6:00pm, and hot laps commencing at 7:30, with racing to follow.
US 36 has become a staple on the MWRA schedule since it’s inception in 2020, with 8 total programs so far, and 6 points paying races. Wyatt Burks (4), Wesley Smith (1), and Luke Howard (1), found victory lane at those races, with Cody Baker, winning both non points shows last season.
So far the battle for the championship in 2023 has produced 5 different victors this season, with Burks leading the way with (3) including “Parking It” in victory lane after winning the feature event at US 36 on May 26th. While Braydon Cromwell at (ECS), Chad Goff (Humboldt), Ty Hulsey (81), and Kory Schudy (Valley) have all made it to the double checkers 1st with the Midwest Wingless Racing Association this year.
The race for the title has also been a spirited one so far as we near the half way point. The “Sheriff” Burks running the Wyatt Burks Racing 11w, has a narrow 50 point lead over second place, the “Cowboy” Cromwell turning the wheels in the Braydon Cromwell Racing 4. Not far back in third place is Brad Wyatt driving the Valor Racing 41, with Chris Parkinson Racing teammates Parkinson in the 65 in fourth, and Chad Winfrey in the 65w in fifth, rounding out the top five in the standings.
Positions 6 thru 12 in MWRA points this season include, Justin Johnson (6th), Buddy Parker (7th), Dakota Earls (8th), Zach Clark (9th), Kory Schudy (10th). Chad Goff (11th), and Kobe Simpson (12th) completing the top twelve in points after seven races.
