ASCS SOD Set for Annual Ohio Memorial Day Weekend Triple!

Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (May 23, 2011) – The Michigan-based Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP series is set for its annual trek through Ohio with three events at three different tracks over this Memorial Day holiday weekend.

The weekend set gets under way on Friday night at Lima’s Limaland Motorsports Park, moves on to Waynesfield Raceway Park on Saturday and then concludes atop the high banks of Eldora Speedway near Rossburg on Sunday night.

All three events will pit the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt contenders versus the Ohio-based NRA Sprint Invaders.

With the initial pair of ASCS Sprints on Dirt events in the books for 2011, Portland, Michigan’s Dustin Daggett is out to the early lead with triumphs at Crystal Motor Speedway (April 30) and Hartford Motor Speedway (April 20) extending his career SOD win total to 78, tops in series history.

Daggett is out to the early lead over defending series champion Ryan Grubaugh of St. Johns, MI, who is just two points ahead of Bellevue, MI, shoe Gregg Dalman. Trey Smith and Joe Bares round out the early top five in ASCS SOD points with the balance of the top ten including Davey Brown, Jared Horstman, Shawn Dancer, Robert Huisken and Matt Lumbert.

Last year’s tripleheader versus NRA in Ohio produced three winners in three nights including Luke Hall (Limaland), J.R. Stewart (Waynesfield) and Randy Hannagan (Eldora).

Friday’s action at Limaland Motorsports Park goes green at 7:30 p.m., Saturday’s green flag at Waynesfield Motorsports Park flies at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday’s tilt at Eldora Speedway gets under way at 7:30 p.m.
