The Fastest Cars on Dirt & Rush Modifieds up next at ppms

Join us this Saturday, September 14, at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway when the fastest cars on dirt make their final appearance for the 2019 season. The Falconi’s Moon Township Automotive 410 Outlaw Sprint Cars can reach speeds of 150 mph, making them an exciting one to watch. In the Falconi’s Moon Township Automotive 410 Outlaw Sprint Car Series points race, only 11 points separate first through fifth place. Carl Bowser (11), from Freeport, sitting atop the leaderboard with 273 points. Defending champion Sye Lynch (42), from Apollo, is in second place and right behind Bowser (11) with 268 points, only a five-point difference. 2019 Lernerville track champion Jack Sodeman Jr. (23JR), from North Jackson, Ohio is in third place with 267 points, while Brandon Matus (13), from Wampum, is in fourth place with 266 points, which is only one point behind Sodeman Jr (23JR), and Dan Kuriger (08), from New Brighton, rounds out the top five with 262 points. With the Falconi’s Moon Township Automotive 410 Outlaw Winged Sprint Car Series points race this close, you do not want to miss them on Saturday. 

As well as the Falconi’s Moon Township Automotive 410 Outlaw Winged Sprint Car Series, and the RUSH Sportsman Modified Dirt Series, PPMS will also be featuring the Diehl Automotive RUSH Late Model Dirt Series, the PPMS Pro Stocks, the Keystone Coach Works Hobby Stocks, the Four Cylinders, and the Young Guns. In the RUSH Sportsman Modified Dirt Series points race, defending champion, Chas Wolbert (C3), from Howland, Ohio, and Tony Tatgenhorst (63T), from Columbiana, Ohio, are tied for first place with 290 points. Tatgenhorst (63T) picked up his first career RUSH Sportsman Modified victory last Saturday at PPMS. Former division champion, Kole Holden (2), from Tiona, is in third place with 284 points, only 6 points out of first place. Chelsie Kriegisch (10), from Ellwood City, is in fourth place with 281 points, and she is only nine points out of first place. Jacob Jordan (28J), from Aliquippa, rounds out the top five with 258 points. The RUSH Sportsman Modified Dirt Series is the closest points race at PPMS and you don't want to miss them. 

The Diehl Automotive RUSH Late Model Dirt Series is fresh off of the 13th Annual Miley Motor Sports Rumble, which saw Garret Paugh (03), from Elkins, West Virginia, take home the win. As the season winds down, Ben Policz (14B), from Rices Landing, has a 118 point lead over the field. Christian Schneider (1ST), from Warren, Ohio, is in second place with 1153 points. Just a few weeks ago, Schneider (1ST) was within ten points of Policz (14B). But, Schneider (1ST) missed the race on September 1, which enabled Policz (14B) to pad his lead over the field. John Mollick (60M), from Toronto, Ohio, has had one of, if not the fastest car in the division this season, but he and the 60M team have been plagued by bad luck. Mollick (60M) is currently sitting in third place with 1140 points, only 13 points out of second place. Nico Dabecco (F1), from Verona, is in fourth place with 1059 points. Dabecco (F1) has one win on the season, coming on September 1, and he has a lot of top-five finishes. Paul “Jabo” Jablonski (3JX), from

Carnegie, rounds out the top five in the Diehl Automotive RUSH Late Model Dirt Series points race with 970 points. 

Danny Rich (67X), from Imperial, has simply dominated the PPMS Pro Stock division this season at Dirt’s Monster Half-Mile. Rich (67X) has five wins on the season and is sitting atop the leaderboard with 1275 points. Mike Harris (18), from Bridgeville, is currently in second place with 1222 points. 53 points out of first place. Master engine builder, A.J. Poljak (36), from Baldwin, is in third place with 867 points. Poljak (36) has also run his fair share of Hobby Stock races this season with the Shelpman team. Nick Kocuba (10), from Bulger, is in fourth place with 776 points. Kocuba (10), a former division champion, has had a slew of bad luck this season. Dave McManus (114), from Elizabeth, rounds out the top five in PPMS Pro Stock points with 762 points. McManus (114) has one win on the season, coming on 7.27.19.

Two-time defending Keystone Coach Works Hobby Stock champion Stephen Shelpman (17S), from Pleasant Hills, set his eyes on a third championship at the beginning of the season and he is well on his way to achieving that goal. S. Shelpman (17S) has five wins on the season and is currently sitting in first place with 1319 points. A full 44 points over the rest of the field. Marcus Simmons (68X), from Beaver Falls, is in second place with 1275 points. The 68X Simmons team has one win on the season with the dad, Jake, driving. Keystone Coach Works Hobby Stock rookie driver, Frank Magill (05), from Jefferson Hills, has had a very impressive season to date. F. Magill (05) has consistently finished in the top five for most of the season and he picked up his first career Hobby Stock win on September 1. F. Magill is currently in third place with 1237 points. Karlee Kovacs (221K), from Carnegie, is still waiting patiently for her first elusive Keystone Coach Works Hobby Stock win. Kovacs (221K) is no stranger to victory lane though. She has won numerous races when she dominated the Young Guns division. Kovacs is sitting in fourth place with 1221 Keystone Coach Works Hobby Stock points. Ed. “Pap” Shelpman (17P), from Pleasant Hills, rounds out the top five for the division with 1214 points. E. Shelpman is also his son, Stephen’s, crew chief, doing double duty on race nights. 

The “Dominator” Andy Garlinger (R88), from Hopedale, Ohio, has lived up to his nickname this season. Garlinger (R88) has won every single feature in his division this season for a total of 13 wins so far. 16-year-old Phillip Bubeck (2L) gave Garlinger (R88) a run for his money last week when Bubeck almost ended his winning streak. Garlinger (R88) made a late-race pass coming off of turn four to keep his winning streak alive. A similar situation happened earlier this season with John Gill (19G), from Burgettstown. Garlinger (R88) sits atop the division with 1310 points. A full 445 points over the rest of the field. John Gill (19G) is sitting in second place with 865 points, as Gill (19G) hasn’t been in every Four Cylinder race this season, missing quite a few of them. Four Cylinder rookie driver, Tanya Charlier (21), from Midway, is in third place with 806 points. Charlier (21) has been consistently improving all season. Craig Rudolph (5R), from Steubenville, Ohio, is in fourth place with 775 points and Jason Romine (71) completes the top five with 516 points. 

Susie Rudolph (55), from Steubenville, Ohio, has been putting on a clinic in the Young Guns division this season at Dirt’s Monster Half-Mile. Rudolph (55) has 12 total wins on the season and coming into last Saturday night, she had 10 wins in a row. After a controversial incident in the Young Guns feature on Saturday night, Rudolph (55) was disqualified by track officials for making contact with another car in turn two. The Young Guns are a non-contact division and the entire field was warned in a pre-race meeting. Despite being disqualified, Rudolph (55) still sits atop the leaderboard with 1289 points. Kyle Janas (88), from Coraopolis, has also had an impressive season. Janas (88) has finished in second place most of the season and that’s where he is at in the points race with 1260 points. Also with an impressive season, Tony Magill (05), from Jefferson Hills, is only eight points behind Janas (88) and is sitting in third place with 1252 points. T. Magill (05) has two wins on the season. Cameron Hollister (44), from McDonald, is in fourth place with 891 points, while Cameron Lambert (223), from Mars, is in fifth place with 691 points. Hollister (44) and Lambert (223) have both been improving throughout the season.

With the season winding down and the points race heating up, you don’t want to miss any of the action at Dirt’s Monster Half-Mile. There are only three points races left in the season before the finale on Friday, October 4 and Saturday, October 5 with the 31st Annual Pittsburgher 100 for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, paying $20,000 to win. Friday, October 4 will see the qualifying events for all divisions except for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
