The Fastest Cars On Dirt Set To Invade PPMS Tonight, 8/22

Join us this Saturday, August 22, 2020, as the fastest cars on dirt come to the Monster Half-Mile. Falconi’s Outlaw 410 Winged Sprint Cars can reach speeds of 150 + Mph at the half-mile oval. Jack Sodeman Jr. (23JR), from North Jackson, Ohio, has the current track record of 14.784, which was set on Saturday, May 27, 2017, during time trails. With three track records being set in other divisions last week, could we see a new track record for the Falconi’s Outlaw 410 Winged Sprint Cars this week? This is the first 410 Winged Sprint show of the season, so you don’t want to miss it. PPMS will also be featuring, the RUSH Sprint Car Series, the Diehl Automotive RUSH Late Model Dirt Series, the ADMAR Pro Stocks, the Keystone Coach Works Hobby Stocks, the Crawford Auto Repair Four Cylinders, and the All Ways Safe Young Guns. In the Diehl Automotive RUSH Late Model Dirt Series points race, last year’s defending champion, Ben Policz (14B), from Rices Landing, finds himself sitting atop the leader board again with 563 points. Policz (14B) has one feature win on the season. John Mollick (60M), from Toronto, Ohio, is only six points behind Policz (14B) in second place with 557 points. Mollick (60M) has had a string of bad luck this season and is still searching for a feature win. Bill Kessler (09), from Freedom, is in third place with 490 points, while Michael Duritsky (90J), from Masontown, is in fourth place with 460 points, and DJ Nakutis (31), from Pittsburgh, is in fifth place with 459 points. Brandon Lott (47L), Christian Schneider (1ST), Jake Gunn (14G), Keith Barbara (64K), and Tony White (27T) make up sixth thru tenth in points respectively. 

The ADMAR Pro Stocks are fresh off of the 9th Annual Ed Laboon Memorial which had a 41-car field for the event. Bobby Whitling (7W) set a new Pro Stock track record during time trials with a time of 19.513. The previous record was held by Andrew Gordon (25G), from Dubois, with a time of 19.617. In the points race, Dave McManus (114), from Elizabeth, is sitting in first place with 540 points, and McManus (114) has one feature win on the season. Ryan Moyer (13X), from Portersville, is in second place but only three points out of first place with 537 points. The battle between McManus (114) and Moyer (13X) will be one to watch for the rest of the season. Nick Kocuba (10), from Bulger, is in third place with 441 points, while Bill Slade (A22), from Bethel Park, is in fourth place with 407 points, and AJ Poljak (36), from Baldwin, completes the top five with 394 points. Eric Piotrowski (7), Mike Harris (18), Jordan Perkins (13J), Joe Anthony (69X), and Todd Weldon (45) are in sixth through tenth place respectively. 

The Keystone Coach Works Hobby Stocks also have a new track record set by Frank Magill (05), from Jefferson Hills, last Saturday, August 15, 2020, with a time of 23.73. The previous record was held by Zackery Stehle with a time of 23.979. In the Hobby Stock points race, the three-time defending champion, Stephen Shelpman (17S), from Pleasant Hills, is in first place with 552 points. Karlee Kovacs (221K), from Carnegie, is in second place with 533 points. Third place belongs to Cody Koteles (1K), from Stockdale, with 526 points. Koteles (1K) picked up his first-ever Hobby Stock win last Saturday night at PPMS. Ben Anton (13), from Jefferson Hills, is in fourth place with 511 points, and Matt Benard (15), from Oakdale, completes the top five with 508 points. John Cain (06), Frank Magill (05), Tom Anton (64), Andrew Sutton (16A), and Robert Betz (22) make up sixth through tenth place respectively. 

In the Crawford Auto Repair Four-Cylinder division, Kyle Janas (88), from Coraopolis, set a new track record last Saturday night with a time of 24.276. In the points race, Philip Bubeck (2L), from Washington is in first place with 581 points. P. Bubeck (2L) has numerous feature wins on the season. Eric Reynolds (53) is in second place with 527 points. Janas (88) is in third place with 523 points, while Bill Tennant (2), from Colliers, West Virginia is in fourth place with 482 points, and his wife, April Tennant (95), is in fifth place with 434 points. John Gill (19G), Tanya Charlier (21), Jay Swagger Jr (13J), Susie Rudolph (55), and Chad Brandt (516) are sixth through tenth in Four-Cylinder points. 

Noah Bubeck (2), from Washington, has simply dominated the All Ways Safe Young Guns divisions this season at PPMS. N. Bubeck (2) has won every Young Guns feature this season at PPMS and his winning streak goes back to the Pittsburgher 100 weekend in October of 2019. He is in first place in Young Guns points with 570 points. Cameron Hollister (44), from McDonald, is in second place with 545 points, 25 points out of first place. Cameron Lambert (223), from Mars, is in third place with 360 points, while Dylan Clipp, from Burgettstown, is in fourth place with 269 points, and Wyatt Mock (88) is in fifth place with 169 points. Mock (88) is a recent addition to the Young Guns division.

With only six weeks left in this shortened season, the action will be heating up at Dirt’s Monster Half-Mile and you don’t want to miss any of the action.
