106 Drivers Check-In to Battle on Fireworks Spectacular Night at Wagamon's Ogilvie Raceway

Ogilvie, MN (July 8) – After three weeks off due to weather and other scheduled events, the Ogilvie Raceway was back open and had another great night of WISSOTA Dirt Track Race Action. 106 drivers signed in to race on the Fireworks Spectacular night with Keith Tourville, Zach Benson, Shane Sabraski, Tommy Bawden, Dave Cain and Alex Aderman going home victorious.

The WISSOTA Street Stocks kicked off the night’s features with Kaden Woodie and Daniel Harstad on row one. As the green waved, Woodie took the lead while others raced nearly four-wide for second. Jim Gullikson moved into the point with Keith Tourville and Charlie Sheik close by. Tourville made a quick move into the lead position and Gullikson followed his trail. Tourville began to stretch his lead as laps passed when Gullikson suffered a flat and retired to the infield. Andrew Hanson slid into the second point with Woodie still clinging to third. Many drivers took advantage of the tacky and smooth race surface to advance finishing points, but Keith Tourville topped them all and took the win. Remaining top points went to Andrew Hanson, Kaden Woodie, Kyle Howland and Cody Kummer.

Tanner Gehl took the immediate lead as the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds went green. Travis Schulte moved into second while Zach Benson slid into third. Benson chased after Schulte, and was soon next to the #3t for second. Benson nosed ahead for second as James Trantina put pressure on Schulte. Trantina, Schulte and Benson were nearly three-wide for second as Benson shot into the lead point. A series of cautions kept the drivers at a stop and go pace, but Zach Benson led the remaining laps and took the win. Travis Schulte, James Trantina, Cole Boston and Jacob Toepper rounded out the top five drivers.

The WISSOTA Super Stocks took the green with Chris Wark and Shane Sabraski on the front row. Wark edged out the early lead as the drivers exited turn one, but at the line, Sabraski took the lead. Sabraski pulled away from the competition as the race continued while Jeremy Nelson and Wark battled for second. Nelson took the point and Dexton Koch moved in to challenge Wark’s. Wark and Koch remained door to door a few laps until Koch sped off the point. As the laps came to an end, Jeremy Nelson, Dexton Koch, Chris Wark and Ryan Kostreba took top points while Shane Sabraski took the win.

Jordan Fischer and Connor Hass brought the WISSOTA Mod Fours to the green, and as the flag waved, Tyler Larson snuck by both of them for first. Fischer came back to Larson’s side for the lead with Tommy Bawden and Hass on their rears. They all remained close for the top points and were nearly three-wide in the turn as Larson pulled away from the field. Bawden chased after Larson, and after a quick battle, Bawden took the lead. One caution slowed the Mod Fours, but the final laps were finished with Tommy Bawden taking the checkers. Tyler Larson, Connor Hass, Dustin Holtquist and Jordan Fischer grabbed top points.

After a couple cautions, Eric Lamm snagged the lead in the WISSOTA Modifieds feature race. Shane Sabraski slid to Lamm’s side and quickly became the new leader while Dave Cain challenged Lamm. Cain took over the second point and began to chase after Sabraski. Sabraski had a good lead established as a caution was triggered. Cain was on the rear of Sabraski’s #7a as they retook the green. Cain kept close to Sabraski, and soon, nosed ahead for the lead. As the laps went by, Cain stretched his lead until a bobble in turn two allowed Sabraski to close the gap. Dave Cain however, held his line and drove his #2c into victory lane. Shane Sabraski, Jeremy Nelson, Jody Bellefeuille and Clayton Wagamon rounded out the top five points.

The WISSOTA Hornets rolled on the surface to conclude the night’s race events with Alex Aderman and Jamie Ammerman on row one. Aderman took the lead as the checkers waved while Payson Patrin grabbed second. The Hornet drivers battled for positions the first few laps, but then settled into their positions. Payson Patrin held second with Joe Wilber, A.J. House and Carter Matthews in points three through five respectively, and they remained in that order the race entirety with Alex Aderman taking the win.

Next week, Wagamon’s Ogilvie Raceway will once again welcome the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) Modifieds for another three-day Mod Wars Event! Our WISSOTA Modifieds will go head-to-head with the best of the best USMTS drivers with three complete days or race action. Midwest Modifieds, Mod Fours, Street Stocks and Hornets will accompany the Modifieds in what is sure to be a great event. Mark your calendar and join us for Mod Wars at the Big O.
