2019 Thunderbird Schedule Takes Shape
The Historic 1/2 Mile 2019 racing season returns to NASCAR weekly racing under the Whelen All American Series banner where drivers will once again be able to compete for local, state and National honors. This is the first look at the 2019 schedule and some events are still in planning and will be added to the schedule as soon as details are available.
2019 will kick off where 2018 ended with the rescheduled Dirt Track Nationals March 7th, 8th and 9th. March 7th will be an open practice for the event and the first practice of the season.
April will see the return of weekly racing with the season opener April 5th and weekly racing continuing every other week with big specials added in between events. The MLRA Late Models will rap up the month of April with their return to the 1/2 mile on the 26th.
Three events are schedule for May with Whelen Engineering Night kicking things off on May 3rd. The Cash Money Late Models will be swinging in on May 10th as one of their 5 appearances at the track in 2019.
June heats up with weekly racing on June 7th and return of the Cash Money Late Models on June 14th. The OCRS Sprint Cars will be back for a two day event on June 21st and 22nd with a $1500 to win B Mod special running with them.
July will be a little different with all the big specials being ran at Salina Highbanks and The Mighty Tri- State Speedway, Thunderbird has decided to run Tuesday July 2nd with a big fireworks display at the track after the races are completed.
Weekly racing will continue July12th and then the Clash is slated for the 26th and 27th and more details we be made available as soon as the event plans are finalized.
The Cash Money Late Models will return once again August 2nd to kick off the month. Back to school night will be August the 9th and our Championship Night to end the points season will be August 23rd.
The Dirt Track Nationals will return September 26th, 27th and 28th and a rain day has been schedule for October 17th, 18th and 19th if needed.
The Thunderbird family is excited to welcome on board Fuzzy Withrow as we know he will take Thunderbird Speedway to new and exciting level of racing.
