Millwood returns to Volusia for DIRTcar Nationals

On Monday afternoon, Tyler Millwood returned to Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Fla.) for the 50th annual DIRTcar Nationals. For another $7,000-to-win A-Main on Tuesday evening, Millwood followed up the 20th fastest lap in his time trial group with a fifth-place finish in his heat. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot at the feature, Tyler came two spots shy of a transfer position with a fourth-place finish.

On Wednesday night as the remainder of the weekend shifted under the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series banner, Tyler came in fifth in his heat, sending him into the B-Main. Locking the Top 2 into the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Millwood posted a fourth-place outing.

For the fourth round of the 50th annual DIRTcar Nationals on Thursday, Millwood took part in his heat race but decided to opt-out of competition after Mother Nature delayed the program for nearly three hours.

With the field reduced to 38 cars on Friday night, Tyler recorded a seventh-place finish in his heat, giving him one last shot at the A-Main with a B-Main appearance. Needing to place second or better, Millwood logged a fifth-place finish.

Saturday night’s $10,000-to-win finale fell victim to Mother Nature.
