Legends Opener this weekend at Diamond Park!
Murfreesboro, AR - This Saturday, April 3rd, 2021 the stars and cars of the GRT Race Cars Legends Late Model Series will be making the trip to Diamond Park Speedway for their opening night in 2021 paying $1,000 to win/$100 to start!
2020 series champion Scotty Freeman of Hector, AR is expected to defend his title in his new #007 Cunningham Metals Rocket alongside series regulars Robert Myers, Brayden Proctor, and Eddie Hoyer’s #4Play 4Play SpeedShop GRT.
Newcomers to the series, Chris Taylor of Texarkana, will be looking to power his #34 Murphy & Son Timber GRT into victory lane and Jason Miles of Glenwood, AR in the Stuckey Enterprise Black Diamond Buster Robert’s Logging #503 will also be a force to be reckoned with at one of his favorite ovals.
The win is likely to stay in the local area though as the Chase Contractors Rocket #26F driven by Cole Farmer, the #26R Farmers Tree Service Rocket piloted by father Ross, and Dustin Holmes’ Glenwood Auto Parts Rocket #33X also of Glenwood, AR, make the short drive to the ‘Premier Track of the South’!
Also expected is the #5 W & W Timber Healthcare Express Rocket XR1 of Jon Mitchell from Texarkana, TX and many other local area late model hot shoes!
Series sponsor GRT Race Cars has put up a $100 bonus for the highest finishing GRT in the A Main! Team5 Enterprises is giving way a box of Team5 rivets to the top 3 finishers and Designer Graphics of Florida awards the series Hard Charger given to the hardest charging competitor each weekend!
The pit gates open at 5pm; grandstand gates open at 6pm; racing is at 7:30!
Other local classes will include: Young Guns, Sportsman, FWD Stingers, ArkLaTex Factory Stocks, L & W Scrap Metal Pure Stocks, SuperClean IMCA ModLites, and the GRT IMCA Modifieds.
