Christmas in July, Santa bring bikes for the kids and trophy's for the racers
{Francis Creek, WI)- Jeremy Christians told Santa Clause he would take care of his own stocking stuffer present by taking home the $1,200 payday on Christmas in July Night at 141 Speedway. Christians played The Grinch to 38 other competitors.
Jeremy Christians and Rod Snellenberger drew the front row for the IMCA Stock Car Feature event. Christians took advantage of his outside starting spot and got around Snellenberger quickly. Snellenberger stayed with but had heavy pressure from Shawn Havel. Havel would make his way around Snellenberger and set his sit on the top prize. Christians would ride around the rim of the speedway with Havel trying multiple lines throughout the event to try and make the pass. Havel would get an A for effort but could never make a good enough charge. Christians never faulted and took home the win and $1,200 payday in front of Havel. Snellenberger won a late race thee car battle over Aaron Stolp and John Heinz to finish third in the green to checker finish.
Cody Schroeder decided to move up to the big boys of the IMCA Modifieds only a few weeks ago. He learned very quickly he has what it takes to hang. Cody Schroeder drove a near flawless race to pick up his first career IMCA Modified Feature win in just a few weeks of competition. It was almost five years to the day from when he earned his first IMCA Sportmod Feature win at the speedway. Schroeder started up front and brought last week's winner Mark Schuenemann to the lead. Schroeder drove the top like a seasoned veteran with Schuenemann staying right with for the first half of the race. Schroeder would break away over the final laps but would have to work lapped traffic the last couple of laps. Schuenemann was able to drive to the back bumper of Schroeder off the final corner but couldn't pull of the feat. Schuenemann followed up last week's win with a runner-up finish. Adam Reed ran third the whole race. Joel Crowbridge ran a very solid fourth. Mike Mullen finished in the top five after starting 11th.
Spencer Long led the opening laps of the IMCA Sportmod Feature with Randy Lemieux Jr charging to the second spot. Long would run lower on the speedway with Lemieux charging on top. Long would see Lemieux on top and try to change lanes but lost the handle on his racer in front of the field. A caution would fly and give the lead to Lemieux. on the restart, Christopher Budzban would make his presence felt. Budzban moved quickly up front and grabbed the lead on lap eight. Budzban would pick up his first ever win at the speedway in his storied career. Tim Warner ran from his 12th starting spot to finish second under green flag conditions. Bruce Belland finished third after starting ninth. Vince Engebregtsen finished in the fourth spot after starting in 17th and coming through the consy. Randy Lemieux Jr would slip to fifth.
Four different leaders would have their chance at leading the Street Stock Feature. Mathias Prouty led the opening lap with Jake Burt coming to the lead on lap two. Burt would lead until Mike Carter came calling for the top spot. Ed Anschutz came with Carter to the front. Anschutz would give him his whole load of experience to see what Carter could handle. Carter stayed right up on top and would ride the rim of the speedway. Anschutz would give the same rim job around the speedway for a couple of laps. With the great battle for the lead, Adam Crapser, Kraig Koehler and Alex Crapser would make it a legit five-car battle for the win. Adam Crapser rose to the occasion and grabbed the p1 with six laps remaining. Carter wasn't done yet and grabbed the lead on the next pass. Crapser shot back and took the lead for good. Crapser picked up his second win of the season over Carter. Anschutz put his racer in every hole he could find on the speedway but had to settle for third. Kraig Koehler finished fourth after winning four features in a row. Alex Crapser finished fifth.
Rex Karner led the opening two laps of the Grand National Feature event until Terry Van Roy moved up front. Van Roy would never be tested on his way to the feature win.
Van Roy would pick up his second straight win by a straightaway. Kodi Wirtz won a late race battle for the second spot over Jeff Jungwirth. Shawn Schmitt would inch closer to the point lead with a fourth place finish. Rick Gustavson rounded out the top five.
Cody Vinney had a night to remember as he picked up a clean sweep in the IMCA Sport Compact division. Vinney would dominate the event in picking up the win. Neil Watzka finished second in front of Mike Meier after a race long duel. Mike Zitzer finished fourth ahead of Nathan Lisowe.
