JOHNSON HOPES TO EXTEND SW STREAK AT CASA GRANDE SATURDAY
R.J. Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz. will try for a sixth consecutive USAC Southwest Sprint Car points victory Saturday when the series makes its only 2014 stop at Central Arizona Raceway in Casa Grande.
A victory Saturday would tie the all-time record for consecutive single-season USAC Sprint wins at six. Larry Dickson set the mark in the USAC National series in 1968!
Johnson enjoys a comfortable 131-point lead over runner-up Josh Pelkey, but Pelkey’s margin over third-place driver Charles Davis Jr. stands at just four points.
