Pontbriand on Point for DRP Sportsman Win

Wisconsin Dells WI 6/12/21-Joey Pontbriand of Norway MI picked up his second UMA Sportsman Win for the Year at Dells Raceway Park Saturday Night holding off fast qualifier Chad Smith from Davis Junction IL in the closing laps. Kaleb Hurless of Marshfield WI and Jake Schraufnagel of Slinger WI paced the field to green with Schraufnagel taking the early lead from the start. Schraufnagel would lead thru the midway point as the faster qualifiers patiently work their way through the field. As the laps wound down in the 25 lap event Schraufnagel would soon find his mirror full of the Michigan Pilot Pontbriand and with 8 laps to go Pontbriand would slip past for the lead bringing with him fast qualifier Chad Smith. Ponrbriand would hold off Smith in the last five laps for the win with point leader Chris Weber grabbing third followed by Brandon Birdsill of Reedsburg for fourth and Schraufnagel would round out the top five. Earlier in the night it was Chad Smith fastest in qualifying with a mark of 14.984 79.285mph, Kaleb Hurless won the Incredible Cars of Cross Plains Fast Dash,and Rookie Driver from Sparta Mark Challet won the heat.
