LICHTFELD CONTINUES HOT STREAK

Wisconsin Dells WI 7/9/22-Mike Lichtfeld continued his hot streak in the Gandrud Performance Parts Pro Late Models with a big win in round 2 of the Triple Crown series presented by Logan’s Hero’s Bar and Grill. Jake Jump and Stephen Manke brought a stacked 22 car field to the green for the 60 lap main event. Manke would gain the early advantage and would battle Jump and Kevin Kolkata in the early going. Behind the leaders the field was deadlocked with fierce side by side action. After a rash of cations caused by close racing and the exhaustion of the 5 Star Concrete and Excavating Lane choice cone the cars that showed a lot of speed early in the night started coming forward. After a massive wreck that claimed not only the leaders but the 08 of Borntreger who was coming through the field very well, the restarts went single file. Morgan Schissel piloted his number 71 to the front and tried to pull away. It was all for naught as the 44 of Lichtfeld who was no longer enthralled in traffic was able to get to the 71 and pass him for the win. Lichtfeld was followed to the line by Schissel, Brady Bill, Nick Beaver and Kendrick Kreyer. The 20 lap Gandrud Performance Parts Pro Late Model B Main was claimed by Myles Marshall. Randy Sargent, Ronnie Osborne and Scott Luck also punched their tickets to the main event. Braden Berge and Brandon Reichenberger were given the provisionals to set the 22 car feature field. Defending series Champion Jesse Bernhagen was the winner of the Diamond Racing Wheels Fast Dash. The Gandrud Performance Parts Heat races were won by Jake Rose, Braden Berge, and Jake Jump. Of the 31 Pro Late Models that took time Mike Lichtfeld was the fast qualifier with a lap of 14.090.
