TY FREDRICKSON CAPTURES ICEBREAKER 100

Wisconsin Dells WI 4-13-24-Ty Fredrickson from Northfield MN captured his first major Super Late Model victory of his young career Saturday afternoon at Dells Raceway Park by winning the Alive for 5 Series Icebreaker 100 presented by Wegner Automotive. The 15 year old Phenom had to fight his way to the front of the field on three different occasions before finally capturing the win.
Jordan DeVoy and Jeff Storm brought a Star Studded 26 car field to the green in front of a near capacity crowd. DeVoy would take the early advantage and settle in to lead for 6 laps. Casey Johnson would climb up to take the lead on lap 7 he would lead uninterrupted when 15 year old Kulwicki Development driver Ty Fredrickson would challenge on a restart. After a side by side battle Johnson would regain the lead and continue his dominance through the mid race to claim the Quality Freight Rate $500 halfway leader bonus. Fredrickson would fight his way to the lead after the restart and lead the next 30 Laps. On Lap 90 Ryan Farrell would fight to the point from the 24th starting position with a daring high side pass of Fredrickson and Johnson. Farrell’s time at the front would be short lived as the final caution of the day would fly with 6 laps remaining. On the restart Fredrickson would outduel the veteran and cruise to the victory. Fredrickson was followed to the line by Farrell, Johnson, Dalton Zehr and Defending Alive For Five Series Champion Luke Fenhaus. Gabe Sommers was Quick Qualifier of 35 Super Late Models collecting a $1000 bonus courtesy of Wegner Automotive and Meristem Crop Performance. The Alive For Five Super Lates return to action June 1st for the Trickle 99. For tickets and schedule info check out DellsRacewayPark.com
