Dover Sweeps Double Down Showdown at Wagner Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – WAGNER, S.D. (July 10, 2018) – Jack Dover was victorious during every race he competed in last weekend at the Double Down Showdown hosted by Wagner Speedway.

Dover captured both a heat race and the A Main from the pole position to kick off the Midwest Sprint Touring Series doubleheader on Friday.

“The track was really slick and everyone was racing in the infield,” he said. “We tightened the car up quite a bit and won the race, but we could have been a lot tighter. We won, but we also learned a lot of stuff. We tried some new stuff so it was a learning night as well.”

Dover continued his dominance on Saturday, winning a heat race from the fourth starting position before lining up eighth for the main event.

“We got up to second on the start of the heat,” he said. “About a lap and a half in we took the lead. In the redraw we played blackjack and my luck wasn’t as good as the first night. We ended up having the worst hand so we started eighth.

“Everybody thought the track would be like it was Friday night. They must have watered it all day long because it was good. There was a line on the bottom and if you had to you could go up top. We ran the bottom the whole night and it worked out.”

Dover took the lead around the midpoint of the 25-lap feature and he cruised to his fifth MSTS triumph of the season, which propelled him into the lead in the championship standings.

“There were a lot of great guys there last weekend,” he said. “When you can go out and beat Thomas Kennedy and Jason Martin and guys like that you know your car is working good.”

Weather permitting, Dover plans to compete this Thursday at Sioux Speedway in Sioux Center, Iowa, with the Midwest Sprint Touring Series; Friday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., with the Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints, Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series and Midwest Sprint Touring Series; and Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa.
