Falloway, Krup Hope For Harlie Winners

(August 21, 2021) – The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series spend two days in Kentucky at Cedar Ridge Speedway for the Annual Hope for Harlie event. The rescheduled event has a lot of meaning as all the proceeds go to support a girl named Harlie to help cover her medical expenses as she deals with her medical issues.

Thirteen cars signed in and looked to lay down the quickest lap in Allstar Performance qualifying. Will Krupp was quickest with a lap of 14.934 seconds. Josh Harris was second quick at 15.017 seconds. This determined the lineups for a pair of eight lap heat races.

In Hypercoils Heat Race #1 Will Krup used his pole position to grab the lead and go on for the win. Cole Falloway was runner up and series points leader Brian Shaw finished third. Teegan Embrey and John Clippinger also finished in the top five.

It was Josh Harris who came home with the win in Willy’s Carb & Dyno Heat Race #2. Defending series champion Tyler Nicely came home second. Blaze Melton passed the stripe in third. Jacob Rexing and Andy Elliott finished out the top five.

Will Krup triumphed on night one of the weekend and pocket the $1,500 payday. Cole Falloway came home second and Josh Harris came home third. Caleb Slaughter was the SPEC Racing Engines hard charger gaining five spots and finishing sixth.

On night two that paid a hefty $3,000 to win drew fourteen cars. In Allstar Performance a lap of 15.026 seconds from Cole Falloway was the quickest time. Josh Harris for the second night in a row was second quick with a time of 15.109 seconds.

Cole Falloway, the nights fast qualifier won Hypercoils Heat Race #1. Brandon McDowell was runner up and Charlie Mefford finished third.

Tyler Nicely held off Friday nights winner Will Krup for the win in Willy’s Carb & Dyno Heat Race #2. Past Hope for Harlie winner Josh Harris finished third.

Cole Falloway started on the pole and took the lead early. Will Krup battled for the lead early on but brought out the caution after spinning in turn three.
Krup’s night would come to an end early. On the restart Falloway retook the lead and didn’t turn back as he went on to win the $3,000 Hope for Harlie feature event. Tyler Nicely would come home second and series points leader Brian Shaw rounded out the podium. Josh Harris and Jacob Rexing finished fourth and fifth. Dustin Rollins started in the back of the field and was able to gain six spots and grab the SPEC Racing Engines hard charger award.

The next series events will take place Labor Day Weekend in the land of Lincoln. Thursday and Friday night the series will be at Farmer City Raceway with $1,500 and $2,500 to win events. On Saturday will be at Fairbury Speedway for a huge $10,000 to win event and finish off the four-day weekend with $5,000 to win at Fayette County Speedway.
