Lucas Oil Late Models prepping for Southern Tripleheader

By Lucas Oil Late Model Series (Batavia, OH) -- The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series heads south this week, tackling three different race tracks in three states along the way. With over $130,000 in prize money up for grabs, the weekend is sure to provide exciting, door-to-door racing action, lap after lap, as the stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series battle a strong contingent of local and regional standouts.

The action kicks off on Thursday, July 5th at Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, N.C. The Dunn Benson Ford Wayne Gray Sr. Memorial - presented by Campbell University will include a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 50-lap, $10,000-to-win main event for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, S.C. will host the 20th Annual Grassy Smith Memorial on Friday, July 6th. The late Clarence "Grassy" Smith is known throughout the stock car racing industry for his contributions to motorsports and his keen engine building skills. The event will include a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 50-lap, $12,000-to-win main event for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. The SECA Late Models, Limited Sportsmans, Renegades, and Thunders Bombers will serve as support divisions at Cherokee Speedway. Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn. will cap off the blockbuster weekend on Saturday, July 7th with the 5th Annual Mountain Moonshine Classic. The action-packed event will include a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 50-lap, $12,000-to-win main event. The UCRA Crate Late Model division will compete for $2,000-to-win, while the UCRA 602 Sportsman will chase a $1,000 top prize. The Kajun Mini's will also be in action, competing for $1,200-to-win.
