Seawright Scores Fort Payne UCRA Cash
Fort Payne, AL (6/4/22) --- Ten days removed from graduating high school, teenaged racing sensation "Slammin' Sam Seawright of nearby Rainesville, returned to his hometrack, Fort Payne Motor Speedway and to his 604/Crate Late Model roots, Saturday night winning in dominating fashion the United Championship Racing Alliance - UCRA "Summer Slammer 40" event presented by Red Line Synthetic Oil. Also Returning to Red, Seawright was back in his Black Diamond "Farm Systems Inc, GROW, Agcor Steel, J&R Excavating" sponsored machine and was followed across the finish line by last week's FPMS Crate Late Model winner Jeff Helms of Gadsden and the Geraldine "Hurricane" Kasey Hall. Seawright (# 16) was luckily uninjured a week ago after a violent crash at Tennessee's Thunderhill Raceway Park while racing for the lead with fellow Alabaman Josh Putnam. Current UCRA points leader and reigning defending series champion Kenny Kizzar of Sale Creek, TN was fourth, with current $1,000 bonus Rookie of the Year points leader and Bama Brawl winner Brent Rhodes of Crossville, AL fifth overall. Next up for the UCRA, in two weeks is the "Tennessee Tussle" at Wartburg Speedway on Saturday June 18th. The event will boaster a $9,500 purse for the 24 car field, paying $2,500 to the victor.
