Lawrence Caps NCRA Sprint Car Bandits Series Season With Top-10 Result

Inside Line Promotions – KILGORE, Texas (Oct. 4, 2017) – Zane Lawrence earned another top-10 finish last Saturday at LoneStar Speedway during the NCRA Sprint Car Bandits Series season finale.
“The pill draw killed us again this weekend,” he said. “We just have tough luck with it, but we did have a fast race car throughout the night.”
Lawrence advanced from fifth to fourth place during his heat race to open the night.
“We started farther back in the heat race than we would have liked to,” he said. “It was pretty hard to pass in the heat race and that carried on into the feature.”
Lawrence took the green flag from the outside of the sixth row in the A Main. He maneuvered to a ninth-place result, which was his 19th top 10 of the season.
“We had a good car, but it was just so hard to pass in the feature,” he said. “The leader was on the high side making passes left and right, but everybody else was stuck to the bottom trying to maintain.”
The top-10 result wrapped up a third-place finish in the championship standings for Lawrence, who also recently recorded a runner-up finish in the ASCS Gulf South Region championship standings.
“It’s been a great season for our team,” he said. “We battled for two championships and finished in the top three in both. We’re moving in the right direction and have a lot of momentum going forward.”
Lawrence will take the next couple of weeks off before he will return to action Oct. 20-21 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, for the 44th annual Winter Nationals with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
