Urish posts third straight Outlaw win at Sweet Springs

By Chris Hale (Sweet Springs, MO) -- The season might be winding down but the excitement is not. With the pits full of race cars and the Show Me Showdown just a few short weeks away (October 11, 12 and 13), the anticipation is building.

Willie Urish continued his recent dominance of the Winged Outlaw class by winning his third main in a row. Tyler Rennison and Garrett Hulsey continued their points battle with Rennison following Urish across the line. Hulsey was a close third.

Chase Brown, out of Yutan Nebraska, won the Restrictor main. Tyler Kuykendall ran a great race and came home second. Points leader Braden Knipmeyer started 14th in the field and was challenging Kuykendall for second but fell just short.

Garrett Hulsey won the Winged A class main. Riley Goodno and Tyler Rennison followed Hulsey across the line.

In the Non Wing class, third place running Emerson Axsom had the best seat in the house. Axsom was behind Dwayne Benson and Brian Lunsford who put on maybe the best race of the season! With Benson on the cushion and Lunsford on the bottom, the race was on. Lunsford got a run coming off of turn 4 for the checkered flag and the finish was so close the only way to know who won was to look at the score board. Benson got the win with Lunsford second.

Garrett Benson got another win in the Junior class. Chevy Boyer was second and Natalie Doney was third.

Eric Perkins beat a hard-charging Robert Bledsoe and Bill Killion for the Sportsman win.

Just two more weekends of points racing left - Saturday September 22, Friday September 28 and Saturday September 29.
