Collins Dominates Cochran To Win Round 6

(Cochran, GA - 6/8/24) - Colbert, Georgia driver Kenny Collins scored his first Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin' USA Late Model Sportsman Tour win on Saturday night at "The Battlefield" Cochran Motor Speedway. Collins started the night off hot by winning the BMF Race Cars fast time award, clocking in at 15.203 over Wiley McDaniels' 15.559. Those two would start on the front row for the 30-lap main event, which paid $3,000 to win. Chase Giddens of Moultrie, GA, rolled off third in the feature, coming in second in the points. Caleb Ashby (Cunningham, TN), the driver he's chasing for the championship, qualified 7th, and Logan Bradford (Huntsville, AL) rolled off 13th.
Collins dominated the night, leading all 30 laps of the main event with former Crate Racin' USA Dirt Late Model Series champion Wil Herrington in pursuit. However, Collins was not to be denied, holding off all challengers and finishing with a sweep of the event. Collins is now the sixth different winner in six races for the inaugural tour, joining Jason Garver, Richie Stephens, Brady Lee, Tyler Burgess, and Bryson Mitchell as series winners.

Now, the series will take its first big break, returning in four weeks to "The Mag" Magnolia Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 13th, for a $2,000-to-win main event. Drivers will also compete on Friday night, July 12th, for regular CRUSA National points, followed by series points on Saturday night for the second time in 2024 at Magnolia. This event will be part of the 20th Annual Governor's Cup, also featuring the Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin' USA Dirt Late Model Series 604 Late Models racing for a $10,000-to-win feature on Saturday night. The event will be live on Crate Racin' USA TV if you can't make it out to Magnolia on July 12th through the 13th.
