Chick Charges to 11th-Place Result at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 22, 2020) – Mandy Chick maneuvered to an 11th-place finish during the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Master of the Pros race at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway last Saturday.

The weekend began on Friday with a full day of practice at the paved oval.

“We did struggle a little bit in practice even though we had really good setup notes,” Chick said. “Come to find out that the issues were coming from tires we were running on so we made some adjustments as the day went on.”

Chick returned to the track on Saturday for race day. She started 21st in the 150-lap feature at the historic fairgrounds. Chick made gains throughout the race and soaked up learning experiences with two live pit stops before capping the action with an 11th-place result.

“We didn’t end up in qualifying where we would have liked to,” she said. “But we were able to have a solid finish at the end of a longer feature than we’re normally used to. Every time we go out on the race track it’s valuable and we’re learning so much as we go. We even had the learning curve of pit stops and how much two-tire tire changes impacts the handling of a race car. Overall, the weekend was a good one and I’m excited to see how we can carry the momentum throughout the rest of the season as we chase a championship. I'm so proud of my team for all their hard work and thankful to have such awesome people around me.”

Chick will be off for the next few weeks before resuming competition with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour on Aug. 29 at Birch Run Speedway in Birch Run, Mich.
