US 36 Raceway Season Championship Begins Friday Night
US 36 Raceway is set to open the season this Friday, April 5 with the start of the season championship chase.
After a long and cold winter, teams are preparing to make the trek to the 3/8ths mile high banks for the first race of the year.
Six classes will begin championship battles and others will fight for an opening night win. Opening night will feature the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA 305 Sprints, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Sport Mods, E-Modifieds and Pure Stocks.
Last season Chad Clancy (IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Stock Cars), Matt Richards (IMCA 305 Sprints), Steven Clancy (IMCA Sport Mods), Gary Ainsworth (E-Modifieds) and Connor Masoner and CJ Turner (tied in Pure Stocks) all took home season championships. This season some will attempt to defend their titles and new faces will look to challenge for the season long accolade.
US 36 has used the offseason to make many improvements to the racetrack. This season US 36 will use transponders to score each race, while also making live timing and scoring available to race fans and crews via the MyRacePass app. There will also be a pit concession this season.
The pit gates open at 5 p.m. on Friday, with the grandstand gates opening at 6 p.m. Hot laps begin at 7:30 p.m. and racing will start at 8 p.m.
Pit passes for the event are $35. General admission is $15, Senior and Military is $12, children 7-12 are $5 and children six years old and younger are free. Tickets can be purchased online through MyRacePass at https://market.myracepass.com/store/tickets/?store=17636.
