LaCrosse, Wenzel, Waldvogel, and Czarapata Zero in on First Wins of 2023

Seymour, WI,06/23/2023 – 112 cars signed in to do battle on a toasty June evening in Seymour. Benji LaCrosse, Brett Wenzel, Dylan Waldvogel, and Jeremy Czarapata each notched their first wins of the season at the track. While Paul Diefenthaler scored his 4th win of the year already.

The feature action kicked off with the Trailer Express Unified Street Stock feature. Third generation racer Michael Czarapata led the opening lap before mechanical gremlins sent him to pit lane. James Fletcher took over the lead and lap 2 and quickly was pressured by Trey VanStraten. The duo raced side by side for multiple laps as Diefenthaler joined the battle out front. The trio battled as VanStraten took the lead on lap 8. He gave it right back to Fletcher on the next lap though as Diefenthaler waited in the wings. VanStraten led lap 10 before a caution slowed the pace. Following the restart, Diefenthaler was able to take the lead on lap 11 and would never look back. It would be the 4th win of the year for Diefenthaler. Jesse Krahn raced his way to second in the closing laps. Fletcher, VanStraten, and Jared Spaulding rounded out the top five.

Dylan Waldvogel started on the pole of the IMCA Northern Sport Mod feature and would never look back. Cory Kemkes was able to challenge Waldvogel at times but could never find a way around. Waldvogel led all 20 laps for his first win of the year. He was followed to the checkers by Kemkes, Chris Kuchta, Jordan Jahnke, and Ryan Schmidt.

Dan Michonski snagged the lead on lap 1 of the IMCA Stock Car feature, but it was Brett Wenzel taking to the outside of the track to grab the lead on lap 2. The only real challenge to Wenzel came on restarts as Chucky Forstner hung with Wenzel at times. In the end it was Wenzel fending off the field for the win. Michonski, Forstner, Tyler WIlson, and Brandon Czarapata completed the top 5.

Dan Roedl led the early stages of the Professional Plating IMCA Modified feature. As Marcus Yarie and Benji LaCrosse worked through the field towards the front. By lap 6 Yarie had advanced to 2nd on the track and quickly caught Roedl. Yarie went to the inside of Roedl to take the lead on lap 9. LaCrosse moved to second on lap 11 quickly reeled in Yarie. LaCrosse and Yarie raced side by side on lap 14 with LaCrosse holding a slight advantage at the line. LaCrosse would pull away for the win. Yarie finished in second. Lucas Lamberies made a late race charge to finish third. Roedl took fourth, with Cody Schroeder finishing fifth.

Jeremy Czarapata led wire to wire to secure the win in the Medals IMCA Sport Compact feature. Bailey Tate, Cody Booth, Brett DePrez, and Al Cottrell rounded out the top five.

Racing will continue next Friday night as the Dirt Kings Late Model Tour joins the show. Fireworks will also follow racing action. Pits open at 4:00, grandstands open at 5:00, and racing will start at 6:30. Full results and more information can be found online at outagamiespeedway.com.
