Williamson & Rehill Take the High Line to Victory, Kellar & McDonald Take Wins, Sunday Rained Out

The Dinner Jacket Classic Series was cut short due to rain on Sunday, but racing action was intense on Saturday (July 30) evening.

A capacity crowd was on hand to see some great racing as the Green's BBQ WISSOTA Modifieds were in town on top of the weekly classes of Q104 WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, MBL Storage WISSOTA Pure Stocks, and Henley Enterprises 4-Cylinders.

It was Tanner Williamson winning heat 1 from third place, while Shawn Teunis was able to snatch the win in Heat 2. In the feature, Cameron Brown started outside pole, after just a short battle with Chris Bouwman, Brown pulled away by a few car lengths. It seemed as if Brown was going to have an easy victory.

However, Williamson had started in fifth place. After picking off Brody Strachan and Bouwman, his eyes were set on the lead car. At first, Williamson tried the more traditional bottom lane at the track, but after several attempts, he decided to try a bold move; to pass on the outside.

It seemed to work, and Williamson was able to make it stick long enough to make the pass. After several more laps, the gap increased, giving Williamson the feature win.

In the Q104 WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, Brandon Rehill took the win in heat 1, Glen Strachan won heat 2, and Austin Hunter dominated heat 3.

The Bruce Krawicki Memorial Feature Event was full of high speed action and unfortunate events. Hunter had the early lead, but the "High Side Hustler" of Rehill was coming. The track had really started to widen out, and it was becoming Rehill's advantage. After several laps of reeling him in, Rehill was able to take the outside line to pass for the lead. A caution came out soon after, which restacked the field. After a false start, the cars lined back up and tried again.

Edward Bell pushed up the track in turn two, causing things to get really tight in the group of cars. It seemed to clean up, but on the back stretch, something happened, which led to a pile up coming into three.

On the restart, Hunter and Rehill were once again the dominating forces. Rehill got quite a bit of a lead, but with just a few laps to go, Hunter was reeling him back in. Unfortunately, Hunter ran out of laps, giving Rehill the Bruce Krawick Memorial Win and his 4th in a row at the track.

In the MBL Storage WISSOTA Pure Stocks, Andrew Piilo took the win in Heat 1, Alex Mira won Heat 2, with Alexander Farr going from fourth to first in Heat 3.

In the Feature, AJ Kellar got the luck of the draw and started pole position, while challenged early in the race, Kellar was able to gain ground and not look bad, taking the checkered flag. Jayson Bronk, who started ninth, finished third, while hard charger of the show was Michael Copp, who started way back in the 16th position, to take 8th place.

In the Henley Enterprises 4-Cylinders, Logan McDonald went from fifth to first in Heat 1, with Jeremy Wall winning heat 2.

In the feature, Logan McDonald redrew in the sixth position and picked off Wall, Jake Mazur, Brodie Mcgowan, and Kamea Mulholland to take the feature win. Wall tried everything he could to gain ground, but it wasn't enough.

Congratulations to all the winners!
