2024 WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds Power Rankings
1st
#20 Nick Audette - St. Adolphe, Manitoba
Accolades - 3x Hard Charger Award, 2x Track Champion, 1 Feature Win
"Nick Audette showed more consistency in 2023 as he always finished inside of the top 5 at Lake of the Woods Speedway. This included four finishes in the top 3. While Audette hasn't won a race since 2019, he came close twice in 2022 and once in 2023. As a result of consistent finishes, chances for the win and his second track championship last year, Audette is number one on the 2024 Power Rankings List. "
2nd
#4B Brandon Rehill - St. Andrews, Manitoba
Accolades - 2x Track Champion, 11 Feature Wins (Most All Time), 2023 Dinner Jacket Classic Points Champion
"Brandon Rehill has had the most success of any driver at Lake of the Woods Speedway. Health issues limited his ability run a full season at the track in 2023. When he did race, the results showed the continued success he has had including a clean sweep during the Dinner Jacket Classic Series. If he stays healthy in 2024, he'll be in the hunt for both more wins and possibly a third track championship"
3rd
#17 Christopher Leek - Ste. Genevieve, Manitoba
Accolades - 3 Feature Wins All Time, 2020 Dinner Jacket Classic Champion
"Christopher Leek had two feature wins in 2023 in what was an inconsistent season overall. While solid in heat races, Leek struggled to maintain position in more competitive events, including the Dinner Jacket Classic Series (6th, 10th). However, the last two races of the regular season and the finale in September, he had an average finish of second place. If this continues into 2024, there is a good chance of earning his first track championship in Kenora."
4th
#14 Edward Bell - Winnipeg, Manitoba
Accolades - 1 Feature Win All Time, 2023 Hard Charger Award
"Edward Bell was the runner up in the 2023 points season. He showed significant improvement moving through the field as his claimed the Hard Charger award last season. In comparison, he did not gain any net position in 2022. Even with the improvement, overall results still plague Bell's chance at clinching a track championship or a win, finishing just outside the top three on most occasions. If he can slot into the top 3 more often in 2024, he'll be a contender in the end."
5th
#3H Keelan Hall - Kenora, Ontario
Accolades - 1 Feature Win All Time
"Keelan Hall has been a staple at Lake of the Woods Speedway. The only Kenora driver in the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, Hall's season started with an incredible win on season opener in 2023. He finished a closed runner up the following week. However, he was forced to miss an event due to damage and the Dinner Jacket Classic Series was a disappointment. To top it off, after winning the heat race at the end of August, a part failure forced a DNS. If he can run a full season this year, competitors better watch out!"
6th
#38 Nick Hooper - Winnipeg, Manitoba
"Nick Hooper has been putting in the time to improve. Spending a large amount of time practicing at the track in the spring, Hooper won a heat race and led many laps during several different feature races. While the results haven't been as high up as he might like, there was noticeable improvement in his abilities. Don't be surprised to see him in the top 3 at least once this year."
7th
#10D Patrick Davis - Sioux Lookout, Ontario
Accolades - 2 Feature Wins All Time (1 MWM, 1 Pures), 2021 MWM Rookie of the Year
"Patrick Davis went from zero to hero in his two races at Lake of the Woods Speedway in 2023. After struggling during his first appearance on July 23, he returned to not only win his first feature race in the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, but winning it in dominant fashion. His extensive seat time last season will certainly have him competing for the win every week. If he decides to run a full season, it might be a possible championship."
8th
#14C Cody Ossachuk - Fort Frances, Ontario
"Cody Ossachuk was able to attend towards the end of last season and put on quite a show at the season points championship. Rounding out the top 5 in each of those (and a 5th place on September 10), and if Ossachuk is able to run more often in 2024 at Lake of the Woods Speedway, he'll add depth to an already competitive field."
9th
#18T Tim Wiebe - Vita, Manitoba
"Tim Wiebe has shown improvement each year he has raced. He has stayed within the racing field for position for most races. Unfortunately, he was unable to attend the Dinner Jacket Classic series which affected his points position. If the intent is to run a full season this year, expect Wiebe to continue improving."
