Blake Rogers Hopes to Turn Vegas Luck Around

26 Promotions – Yuma, AZ – (May 3, 2018) – The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway has been unkind to Blake Rogers the past few years, a trend he’s hoping to end at this weekend’s General Tire 75 presented by SuperClean.
“The Bullring is one of our worst tracks,” said Rogers. “For some reason, we always seem to miss the setup or get caught up in a wreck. We finished 13th last May and 18th in November after getting in a couple of wrecks. So Vegas has not been one of the tracks I have been looking forward to.”
Rogers understands that passing will be at a premium on Saturday night and is focused on getting the car dialed to make his way to the front.
“This track is so challenging for us because it’s fast and one groove which makes it harder to pass, so you’re constantly being hit,” he explained. “This weekend we’ll be focused on getting the car to rotate through the corners because the corners are so sharp you have to stay at the bottom or else you’re going to get shoved out of the way. Drive off is also a big key to this track, if you have drive off, you’ll be able to pass cars down the straightaway or at least be in a good spot to get in the corner before them.”
Rogers and his crew hope to build off the positives from their run in Tucson three weeks ago where a top-five run was ended prematurely.
“I believe we had a top three car in Tucson, but our race was cut short due to a wreck,” he said. “Our goal as always is to get a top five, but honestly, I’d be happy to load the car in one piece.”
