Race Fan Logistics Update

Tailgaters: Raceview Tailgating Spots include an 18' wide by 30' depth grass area along the south-side of the lake. We’ve put in a gravel road to help you travel to your spot. Please try to stay on it and utilize it. There will be a snow fence along the edge of the lake for safety purposes. Each spot will be numbered, starting from the race Starting Area and then heading west from there. General Admission tickets are allowed entrance to this area. Included in the Tailgate Spot is one General Admission ticket for the driver of the vehicle. Purchase additional General Admission tickets for your guests. This year we are allowing two vehicles per tailgate spot. No Overnight tailgating and no RV parking is allowed in the Tailgate area; car and trucks only are permitted. Tailgaters are allowed to bring chairs, grills, coolers, games, and pop-up tents. You can leave things overnight but we are not responsible if anything were to happen to those items left. In addition this year we will have for sale beer, ice & Lee's Famous Recipe catered delivery. Details are listed below. You can pick up your Tailgate Ticket Packet on Friday Aug 10th between noon and 6pm at the VIP Tent. Remember Friday is a FREE Day so come on in. Please Bring an ID to pick up packet which will include your Tailgating placards and ordered tickets. Yes you can set up your spot on Friday too. If your second vehicle doesn’t fit in your spot you’re more than welcome to park in the VIP area. If you can’t pick up your packet on Friday we will have your packet on Saturday at the VIP/Tailgating entrance off of Layborne Rd and please bring your ID to pick up. Lastly we will have port johns placed throughout the tailgating area.

Campers: You can begin setting up as early as Thursday. Your packets will be available to pick up at the VIP tent from noon to 6pm on Friday Aug 10th. If you are coming in on Saturday Aug 11th we will have your packets at the Camping Gate entrance which is Gate D. Each camping spot will get 1 vehicle placard to park their car. Additional attendees to your spot will need to park in GA parking and come thru Gate A off of 41. We do not allow open campfires. Keep in mind you can buy beer, ice, and have Lee’s cater your lunch which is listed below.

VIP: VIP Guests will enter the Fairgrounds Lake’s South gate off of Layborne Rd. Present your printed out ticket and you will receive your VIP parking pass plus your wristband in. Once inside and parked proceed to the VIP Hospitality tent located directly behind the starting area for the F1 Boats to pick up your VIP lanyard. This ticket will include buffet lunch daily with beverages, 1 drink ticket for cash bar, and sun-protected table-and-chair seating.

Parking: We have 2 parking options this year. Off of 41 thru Gate A we will have $5 parking. From those parking areas we will have shuttle carts that will take you to the main gate. In addition we have a $20 VIP parking area that will be inside the facility off of Layborne Rd. We are roping and closing off any parking off the road outside of the facility along Layborne Rd.

General Admission: GA ticket holders get access through the Fairgrounds Lake's East Gate and can park for $5 through Gate A off of 41. There will be shuttle carts from parking to the gate entrance. Fans will be allowed to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on the hillside area on the southeast corner of the lake. We will have limited bleacher seating. No pop-up tents are allowed in the GA seating area, and reserving your seat on the hill is on a first-come-first-served basis daily. Fans will not be allowed to leave their items overnight. Additionally, a General Admission ticket will allow you into the Tailgate Area. We will have food, drink, and beer vendors on-site, and you are also allowed to bring in coolers. Kids 12 and under are free. You can purchase VIP parking at the south gate off of Layborne for $20 per day if you chose to. GA tickets are $20 per day at gates and $40 for the weekend.

Vendor Midway/Concert Stage: We’re growing our Vendor Midway area to include the Concert Stage for the Naked Karate Girls Concert Saturday night. All GA tickets get you in for the concert. We’ll also have a Beer Garden tented area with seating near the stage. Vintage Boats will be on Display along with RC Boats. In addition we’ll have Knockerball action along with Winner’s circle backdrop where you can take a photo with “The Big 1” trophy. We’ll also have food favorites CTC along with others for your enjoyment.

Coolers: Yes we allow coolers in with all the tailgating and General Admission.

Beer & Ice: This year we have partnered with Bobby Fisher Beverage and the United Way of Clark, Champaign, and Madison Counties. On Friday (noon to 6pm) and Saturday (8am until noon) you will be able to purchase beer by the 12/24 pk at the same prices you would be able to get from a local retail store. Just come to the Vendor area where the beer garden tent is with the beer truck. Purchase beer and we’ll deliver it to your spot in a cart. You can also purchase ice from the same location throughout the weekend. After Saturday at noon the beer prices will go to Bar Prices. A percentage of the proceeds from Beer and Ice sales will go to the United Way.

Once Bar Prices are implemented there will be a small tent to purchase beer tickets and get a Over 21 ID wrist band in the beer garden area.

Lee’s Famous Recipe: Lee’s will be doing a delivery of lunch catering to the facility between 11am and 12pm on Saturday and Sunday. You can place an order with them at their Springfield location by Aug 8th. Timing and Scoring: This year we will have a jumbotron to show timing and scoring. In addition you can go to www.finishtiming.com to see it on your phone, cast to a TV, or on a tablet. On Sunday we will have live streaming video of race on the Jumbotron but you can also access it on Facebook Live thru @NGKF1PowerboatChampionship. You can cast that to an internet enabled tablet, TV, or phone.

Radio Station: In addition we will have a radio station broadcasting the PA. We will have that information onsite and distribute it. So if you can’t hear the PA you will be able to turn your radio on to listen to it.
