2019 Wake The Lake 3
FAN LOGISTICS UPDATE
TAILGATERS: Spots include an 18’ wide by 30’ deep grass area along the south-side of the lake. Each site is numbered, starting from the race Starting Area and then heading west from there. Following for each spot:
· Each tailgate area will be allowed 2 vehicles – only cars or trucks allowed;
· NO overnight tailgating and NO RV parking is allowed in Tailgate area;
· You can leave things overnight at your own risk; we are not responsible if anything were to happen to items left;
· Tailgaters can set up on their sites on Friday – FREE day
- Each tailgate spot comes with one (1) weekend GA pass
RACEVIEW CAMPING:
· You will be given a time for placing on Thursday afternoon, August 8th.
· Electric will be provided for each site.
· Each site will have parking for one vehicle. You will be able to park up until 9am each day. We will not allow you to go back and forth during racing during the day. Once racing is over then you’ll be able to leave in vehicle. The reason for limited travel back and forth is do to General Admission area near Race View Camping. You can park outside of the gates for FREE.
· Each site will be provided with two weekend General Admission passes.
CAMPERS:
· You can begin setting up as early as Thursday, August 8th.
· Each camping site will receive one vehicle placard to park a vehicle in their site.
· Additional attendees to your spot will need to park in General Admission parking through Gate A off Route 41.
- Each camp spot comes with one (1) weekend GA pass
GENERAL INFORMATION:
· Tailgate & Camping Packets will be available for pick-up with proper ID Friday, August 9th, from 10:30am – 7 pm at the General Admission Entrance Gate to Champions Park Lake from the Fairgrounds. Tailgate Ticket Packets not picked up will be available at the Tailgate Entrance off Laybourne Road on Saturday, August 10th under the Tailgate holders name with proper ID. Camping Ticket Packets not picked up will be available at the General Admission Entrance Gate near the maintenance facility to the Champions Park Lake on Saturday, August 10th.
· Raceview, Tailgaters, and Camping fans are allowed to bring chairs, grills, coolers, food, alcohol, beverages, games and pop-up tents for their spots.
· Open camp fires are prohibited.
· Friday is a free day so come on in
· Lee’s Famous Recipe will again provide catered delivery - see details below.
· Porta-johns will be provided throughout the racing area along with Champions Center being open for restroom access.
· NO pets allowed unless a service animal.
· Beer and ice will be available for purchase onsite.
· Food vendors will be available.
· A concert will be held Saturday night at 6pm – “Saving Pluto” Band.
- Race pits are open and near parking. Please visit with teams and talk with them. They love their fans.
PARKING:
· General Admission parking is FREE off Route 41 through Gate A.
· Shuttle carts will be available to take guests throughout the facility.
· In addition, we have a $10 VIP parking area behind the tailgate area off Laybourne Road.
· We are closing off any parking off the road outside of the facility along Laybourne Road.
PA SYSTEM:
- Great news, with the funding from Buddy Byers, the APBA Historical Society, and the Springfield Foundation we've been able to install close to 2000 feet of new PA system surrounding Champions Park Lake along the tailgate and raceview camping sites. In should make an enjoyable experience for this event and many events in the future.
TIMING & SCORING:
· Will be provided at www.finishtiming.com via phone, tablet, or TV with internet cabability.
· In addition the Facebook page of Champions Park Lake will provide updates on results visit or like @ChampionsParkLake on Facebook
· Sunday there will be live streaming of the race via Facebook Live Stream at @NGKF1PowerboatChampionship.
LEE’S FAMOUS CHICKEN:
· Will provide a delivery of lunch catering to the facility between 11am and 12pm on Saturday and Sunday.
· Place your order by contacting Amber Newton at (937) 845-2142 Ext 1.
GENERAL ADMISSION FANS:
· GA fans can bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on the hillside area. The hillside area has been cleared of all trees for better viewing.
· We will have limited bleacher seating.
· No pop-up tents are allowed in General Admission area.
· Reserving your seat is on a first come-first serve basis daily.
· General Admission fans cannot leave items overnight.
· Food vendors are available along with Beer Vending by the United Way of Champaign, Clark, and Madison County
· A concert will be held Saturday night at 6pm – “Saving Pluto” band.
