BOBBY BLADEN GETS FIRST SEASON WIN IN SUPER PRO AT U.S. 13

By Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE (5/20/12) – Bobby Bladen of Gambrills, Md. had a great day on Sunday as the weather held off just long enough for him to capture his first win of the season in Super Pro at the U.S. 13 Dragway Glenn Groton of Salisbury took the Pro final and Brent English of Bloxom, Va. rode to the win in Pro Bike. Other winners on the day included: Kenny Davis of Seaford, Del. in Street; Harvey Powell of Salisbury in Bike Trophy; T.J. Williams of Fruitland, Md. in Jr. Dragster 1 and Kody Mariner of Salisbury in Jr. Dragster 2.

Bobby Bladen faced Vance Owens of Georgetown, Del. in the Super Pro final. Owens left too early and fouled and Bladen took the win with an 8.797/152.43 on an 8.77 dial for the win driving his 70 Nova. Semi-finalist was Jamie Russell of Dover, Del. who lost to Bladen.

Glenn Groton was paired against Andy Davenport of Seaford in the Pro final. Davenport had a -.009 red light foul and Groton posted the win with a 10.333/130.02 on a 10.32 dial. Semi-finalist was Brent Cannon of Seaford who lost to Groton.

Brent English rode up against D.J. Lockwood of Berlin, Md. in the Pro Bike final. Lockwood had the better reaction but English had the better run to take the win. English ran a 9.244/140.38 on a 9.18 dial whiie Lockwood ran a 9.234/142.83 on an 8.80 dial. Semi-finalist was last week’s winner, John Bartkovich of Salisbury.

Kenny Davis defeated Chuck Wayne of Millsboro, Del. in the Street final. Wayne red-lighted and Davis took the win with an 11.150/103.93 on a 10.70 dial. Harvey Powell was back in victory lane in Bike Trophy. Powell rode his Kawasaki Quad to the win over Irvin Bonneville of Laurel, Del. on his GSXR-600. Powell took the double break out win with a 15.583/75.64 on a 15.60 dial while Bonneville ran a 9.762/123.52 on a 10.00 dial.

In Jr. Dragster 1 T.J. Williams faced Keith Riddle of Millsboro. It was a close run with Williams taking the win with an 8.922/70.37 on an 8.90 dial. Riddle ran a 13.607/49.57 on a 13.04 dial. Kody Mariner was paired against Christian Walston of Crisfield, Md. in Jr. Dragster 2. Walston left too early and fouled and Mariner got the win with a 7.933/82.35 on a 7.91 dial.

This Sunday, May 27th will be Summit E.T. Point Series racing with “Double Points Day.� Gates open at 10 a.m. with time runs at 11 a.m. and eliminations at approximately 2:30 p.m.
