GLENN REESE IS 11TH DIFFERENT WINNER IN SUPER PRO AT U.S. 13
By Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE (7/13/12) – It was a fast and furious Super Pro final Friday night at the U.S. 13 Dragway that ended with Glenn Reese of New Castle, Del. becoming the 11th different winner in 12 events this season. Andy Davenport of Seaford, Del. picked up his second win of the season in Pro and James Farmer of Denton, Md. rode to his fourth win in Pro Bike. Other winners on the night included; Frank Parks in Street; Michael Ross in Bike Trophy; Dacia Powell in Jr. of Salisbury, Md. in Jr. Dragster 1 and Chase Cathell of Seaford in Jr. Dragster 2.
Glenn Reese met Phillip Truitt of Parsonsburg, Md. in the all-dragster Super Pro final. It was a great race right from the start with Reese posting a .006 reaction and Truitt a .007. Reese edged out the win with a 7.690/171.49 on a 7.68 dial. Truitt had a 7.978/162.01 on a 7.95. Semi-finalists were Mike Sparacino of Easton, Md. who lost to Reese and Steven Boone of Ingleside, Md. who lost to Truitt.
Andy Davenport faced Rpger Ridgeway, Jr. of Dover, Del. in the Pro final. Davenport had the better start and took the win with an 11.546/114.79 on an 11.54 dial. Ridgeway ran a 10.469/128.60 on a 10.44. Semi-finalist was Steve Long of Linthicum, Md. who lost to Davenport while Ridgeway had a bye.
James Farmer made it two in a row in Pro Bike as he defeated Anthony Buckson of Smyrna, Del. in the final. Buckson had a -.007 red light foul and Farmer got the win with a 8.862/143.51 on an 8.84 dial. Semi-finalist was Sherell Blake of Delmar, Md. who lost to Buckson while Farmer had a bye.
It was Frank Parks taking his fourth win of the season in Street and extending his point lead. Leon Jackson of Hurlock, Md. had the better reaction but was off his dial and Parks took the win with a 12.019/103.71 on a 12.00 dial. Jackson ran a 13.023/102.37 on a 12.93 dial. Michael Ross rode to his second win of the season in Bike Trophy over David Semprit of Hebron, Md. Semprit had a red light foul and Ross ran a 14.076/82.58 on a 14.10 dial for the win.
In Jr. Dragster it was a pair of first time winners in their respective divisions. Dacia Powell posted her first career win in Jr. Dragster 1 over Brittany Hooper of Hurlock, Md. Hooper left too early and fouled and Powell to the win with an 11.023/58.42 on an 11.05 dial. Hooper had a -.001 red light. In Jr. Dragster 2 it was Chase Cathell getting his first win defeating Herby Sullivan of Ridgely, Md. Cathell ran a 7.917/81.13 on a 7.90 dial while Sullivan had an 8.008/78.00 on a 7.95 dial.
This Friday night will be another exciting Summit E.T. Racing Series event. Gates open at 3:30 p.m. with time runs at 4:30 p.m. and eliminations at approximately 8 p.m.
