JERRY RUSSELL GETS 1ST WIN IN TOP ELIMINATOR AT U.S. 13

DELMAR, DE – It was a hot night of racing on Friday at the U. S. 13 Dragway and adding his name to the list of winners this season in Top ET was Jerry Russell of Felton, Del. Daryl Beauchamp of Princess Anne, Md. drove his Z28 Camaro to the win in Mod ET and Marquise Blake of Frankford, Del. took the win in Pro Bike. Other winners on the night included: Harvey Bowden of Eden, Md. in Hot Rod; Michael Jefferson of Parsonsburg, Md. in Street; Nyck Shirkey of Ridgely, Md. in Jr. Dragster 1 and Jacob Bowie of Greensboro, Md. in Jr. Dragster 2.

Jerry Russell faced Glenn Reese in the all-dragster final of Top ET. Reese left too early by .001 seconds and fouled. Russell had a .019 reaction and a good run of 7.920/167.91 on a 7.91 dial-in for the win. Semi-finalists were Rex Lilley who lost to Russell and Sterling Clough who lost to Reese.

Daryl Beauchamp went up against Bill Bradford in his ‘79 Malibu in the Mod ET final. It was a close one at the line with Beauchamp taking the win by .006 seconds. Beauchamp had a .049 reaction and ran a 9.962/127.94 on a 9.93 dial. While Bradford had a .055 reaction and an 11.312/116.70 on an 11.29. The reaction time was the difference. Semi-finalist was Vincent Wade who lost to Bradford while Beauchamp had the bye.

Marquise Blake on his GSXR 1000 rode up against Deltez Davis on a Kawasaki in the Pro Bike final. Davis had a red light foul and Blake rode to the win with a 9.203/150.88 on a 9.14 dial. Semi-finalist was Davante Brittingham who lost to Blake while Davis had the bye.

In the Street final it was Michael Jefferson in his Nova over Michael Ennis in his ‘97 Dodge Dakota. Jefferson took the double breakout win with a 12.280/106.97 on a 12.29 dial while Ennis was out by move running an 18.427/70.32 on an 18.48 dial.

In Hot Rod it was Harvey Bowden in his ‘93 Mustang over Dennis Johnson in his ‘93
Camaro. Johnson left early and fouled and Bowden drove to the victory with an 11.722/118.47 on an 11.68 dial.

In Jr. Dragster 1 Nyck Shirkey was paired against Ethan Hubbard. Shirkey took the win with a 7.986/76.56 on a 7.91 dial while Hubbard had an 8.031/78.54 on a 7.93 dial. In Jr. Dragster 2 it was defending champion Jacob Bowie taking the win over Dacia Powell. Powell left early and fouled and Bowie was on his dial taking the win with an 8.004/80.86 on an 8.00 dial.jerry
