Driver Information
Andrew Deal is a second generation driver. He began racing at the age of 13, yet decided to focus on school and sports instead of racing. In 2006 at the age of 18, he began running a non-wing micro sprint in the Oklahoma region winning multiple races at Port City and Will Rogers Raceway. In 2007 he saw his first full season behind the wheel of a non-wing micro along with several races in a winged 360 Sprint Car with the Oil Capital Racing Series (OCRS). The season resulted in the Will Rogers Raceway non-wing micro Championship along with the OCRS Rookie of the Year.
From 2008-2010 Andrew saw competition in a midget, micro, and winged sprint car driving for Mike and Karen Deal. He also drove the house micro sprint car for Lucky 7 Chassis where he was able to win multiple prestigious races, including the coveted Golden Driller at the Tulsa Shootout. He was named Rookie of the Year for the SMRS Midget Series.
After graduating from college with a business degree, Andrew opened his own business selling tires in Dewey, OK. This shifted most of his focus from traveling and racing to building his business. He teamed up with engine builder Dave Stephenson to run a sprint car for most of the OCRS series during the 2011 year, finishing the year out with a 6th place rank in the point standings.
During the 2012-2013 racing seasons Andrew drove the family owned midget in a handful of POWRi shows. He began running his own sprint car with the OCRS Series until motor failure put him on the sidelines. At the end of 2013, he joined forces with Wade Cagle and became a threat in the OCRS Series.
In 2014 Andrew continued racing for Wade Cagle and Cagle Motorsports to make a run at the OCRS Championship title. The season showed great success and they were able to achieve the championship together.
The 2015 racing year definitely saw its ups and downs for Andrew. It started out promising with an impressive Chili Bowl, placing 2nd on his prelim night and following that with a top 10 finish in the Saturday night A-Feature. A few months later, Andrew learned he had lost his sprint car ride for the 2015 season due to unfortunate circumstances. In the midst of this discouraging news, the highlight of this driver’s year was marrying longtime girlfriend Tonya Parsons. Shortly after, he received the offer to drive a sprint car for Kelly Fode, competing in 10 races with the OCRS Series. He finished in the top 3 in four of those races. To round out the year, Andrew drove a USAC 360 non-wing sprint for Casey Wills and turned in a top 5 finish with USAC Southwest series. Together, Tonya and Andrew will continue to build his racing career in the direction that the Lord takes them over the years to come.
