Scotty Thiel
Tough night at Wilmot
The Scott Thiel Motorsports team showed up at the Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, WI Saturday September 25th. Scotty drew a 40 pill which set him to start inside the third row of the heat race event. At the green, Thiel quickly moved up to the 4th place final transfer spot and held that ground all race long. That finish would set Scotty to start the A-Main event in the 14th position. The crew prepared the car for a very dry slick race track. Scotty knew it was going to be a challenging race but was focused on moving forward. After taking the green, Scotty did what he said. He moved up from the 14th spot to 8th in a lap and a half before a caution came out. Taking the green again, Scotty slowly moved forward and picked up a spot every few laps. With about 8 laps into the race, Thiel was in the 6th position, preparing to pass for the 5th spot when the 5th place driver drove right over the front end of Thiel's car. Scotty was done for the night after getting out of the car and viewing the extensive damage. He was very frustrated as he is now one of many to get taken out by this particular driver.
The crew will now prepare the car for the final night of MSA Sprint car action at the Dodge County Raceway in Beaver Dam, WI. STM would like to thank all of their great sponsors for the continued support: Complete Water Inc, Scott Thiel Builders, Advanced Compressor Technology, Rhey Graphics, Muehlbergs Fire Solutions, Premier Floors, Kaemmer Foods, Moyle Racing, Haven Bar & Grill, Tri-Flow Lubricants, and Douglas Wheel Technology.
