Dodge County Recap

The STM crew prepared for the very fast Dodge County 1/2 mile on October 2nd. Scotty picked a 30 pill which set him to start outside third row of the heat race. Thiel took over the 5th position and stayed there all race long. That finsih wouldn't transfer him to the A-Main and was forced to run the B-Main event. Scotty started on the pole and never looked back. At the green, Thiel jumped out ahead and managed to pull almost an entire straightaway lead before a caution bunched up the field. After taking the green flag again, Thiel jumped out front and pulled that big lead once again. After taking the checkered flag, the #64 Complete Water sprinter had almost a half of a lap lead over the second place car. That finsih would set Thiel to start 17th in the final night's 20 lap A-main event. After taking the green flag and completing only two laps before a caution came out, Scotty noticed a loud crackling noise coming from the motor. All the gauges read good so Scotty knew it must of been a cracked header. Needless to say it was and put Thiel at a disadvantage, especially at a half mile race track. Scotty managed to drive a pretty decent car considering the down horsepower and a right rear tire that was loosing pressure every lap. Scotty crossed the line in the 11th place position. Finishing 11th was a little frustrating but considering the facts of the car Scotty drove, it was actually pretty good. The right rear went completly flat as Scotty was pulling off the track and the crew figured it was because the header shooting out a flame all race long on the tire.

Scotty Thiel rounded out the 2010 MSA season in the 10th place overall point standings.
