Reds and Blues, Missed Opportunities, and Missed Calls too….

*As the 81 Speedway season winds down, the non stop racing action has not let up! We want to thank the Lane family for all the hard work and dedication to the Kids Club, and for the Great turnout at Public Safety Night this past weekend. It was cool to see the ones that are there for all of us in an emergency come out and participate and enjoy the evening!! Seeing the Lights pace the field was ultra cool, only to be topped during the national anthem when the two horse mounted officers made a lap carrying our nations colors. Thank you.

*With a really good car count the Kansas Tow Co. USRA B-mods were there to put on a show. Tyler Kidwell had a plan going into the night and he stuck to it. You see Kidwell is in a tight points race of his own for the USRA National title and starting 6th in the feature gave him a shot to gain some major ground up. He blitzed through the field and never really looked back on his way to victory. In one of the crazier wrecks we have seen Cory Janasek planted the 52 in the wall over in turn 3-4, Clint McFadden had a full head of steam and barreled into the rear of him hooking the rear bumper area of the 52 to the windshield bars on McFaddens ride. We were so happy to see both drivers safe and McFadden actually drove away trying to protect his point lead and finished 7th in what was a sheet metal nightmare. 2nd place went to the driver of the 4a Josh Lanterman. After a miserable heat race last week and mediocre one this, he used both hands to climb 7 spots to finish strong!! KC Mullin 3rd, Slade Mohr 4th, and Jake Fetterman on his first visit 5th. This point battle is oh so close as we enter that last week of racing.
*The Allied Energy and Battery Stock cars started the night off with sparks in a tumultuous and then shortened B-feature the main event rolled onto the track. Bad Beau Davis starting 5th took little time to power to the point. He was briefly challenged by Jayce Reimer, then by hard charging Joey Richmond, and Aaron Esparza. Multi-time champ Clint Smith may have slipped up or missed his mark allowing Jayce Reimer and Aaron Esparza to leap frog him in the points battle. This one my friend will come down to the last season points race on the 28th of September. Beau Davis in post race interview spoke highly of the race surface and was pumped to be back in VL, Joey Richmond 2nd, Aaron Esparza 3rd, Jayce Reimer 4th, and Mr. Justin Franz in the thick of things finished 5th.
*The TM Fencing LLC Super Stocks had a couple of new contenders in the race as they all tune up for the Super Stock Special coming up on Oct 5th. Chris Eveland had a great start only to be ran down by Kenny Sweet! Kenny looked to be in a different gear driving the car wherever he wanted on the track. Point leader Jerrod Reimer ran up to second and had a good battle with Alan Blevins going and Reimer finished 2nd, Blevins 3rd, and Chris Eveland 4th. Kenny had some choice words at the scales, (wink) we will see how he looks when the big money is on the line !!!
*The Alternative Pest Management USRA mods had a loaded field of Heartland tour guys and a couple USMTS guys racing local for the night. As luck would have it, Tyler Davis and Tanner Mullens redrew the front row for the start. The 65 pulled out to an early lead and built upon it for a 4 second gap, after a few yellows flew it appeared that the Delaware restart wasn’t so single file at the cone but the green stayed displayed leaving Davis in chase mode with 8 laps remaining. Tanner Mullens protected the line and got the W. Davis 2nd, your new point leader Paden Phillips 3rd, Brendon Gemmill 4th, and Kirby Robe 5th. This one had some front pack tower drama, and some in the back. Dan Powers has himself in a battle for the championship falling behind by 14 to Paden Phillips. It’s anyone’s race and we hope you come out to watch on the 28th!!
*Last up in the order was the JLR Property Management 316 mods. This one has the perennial driver of the 2K Kendall Kemp protecting a season championship lead. Kason Carroll in a close second in points was off to a great start, when he got a bit impatient turning the 29 of Shelby Stucky into the spin cycle, and being sent to the rear. Alex Cammon in his BOM ride was ripping the lip and was only challenged slightly by Ryan McAninch for several laps and then Kendall Kemp bolting to 2nd at the checkers. Alex Cammon 1st, Kemp 2nd, Ryan McAninch 3rd, Cooper Weis 4th, and Shelby Haffucky 5th.
