Jeff started his racing career at the tender age of 16. He had a 1968 Chevy Impala SS 396. Thinking that he had a 396 c.I. engine He would set the racing world on fire. But on his first night of racing when he qualified it was one of the slowest laps in Columbus 151 Speedway history. He started on the pole of the first heat and that was the start of one of the most spectacular crashes in 151 memory. Coming out of turn two the car bogged down and I was rear ended and was turned towards the retaining wall and hit by another car in the right quarter panel and turned me towards the infield and then hit again by another car which then went airborne over my hood and come to find out after that he left tire tracks on my hood. The end result was that three cars were totaled in the crash.
