Thank you David Squier!! Powers’ finds the Scales, Kemp , Bortzfield, and Reimer follow suit.

*On a night that we paid tribute to the late David Squier the fans were treated to a great night of racing action. Scott Squier alongside Aric Kick, Baby Ramey, and Tim Ozbun flew the colors in honor of our nation and Scott’s late father David. You are missed. David every single time he was at the speedway went out of his way to find me and give me a hard time. I will say that I miss seeing him, but I still get the same hard time when I stop by their pit area!!
*The evening started off with the TM Fencing LLC Super Stocks and from the start Jerrod Reimer bolted to an early lead. As the race moved on, John Allen and the track prep crew had the bottom and top grooves revived and it made for a great finish! Kenny Sweet snuck below Reimer for the lead only for Reimer to turn up the wick and get back by him, at the line it was Reimer 1st with Sweet and his car coasting across in 2nd while Chris Pitts battled back for 3rd leaving an all out Family fight for 4th and 5th finishing Jerry Eveland Sr and JD Eveland.
*The best stock cars in the Midwest took to the oval next with 24 checked in and lined up for the Allied Energy and Battery stock car A-Main. With Track Champ Clint Smith starting 6th he had some work in front of him. Kyler Kemp set sail early in the b00b car and was challenged early by Beau Davis and Aaron Esparza. Beau appeared to break something in the rear end on the back stretch ending his night early. When we got rolling again it was Kemp out front only to be challenged by A-Aron Esparza who was being pressured by Clint Smith. Jayce Reimer looked to be fighting an ill handling car allowing Austin “Baby” Ramey to get by him late in the race. The When Pigs Fly BBQ Checkers flew Kyler Kemp took home the win (victory lap included) and the once known as
spindarella Aaron Esparza with a strong 2p, Clint Smith 3rd, Joey Richmond 4th, and Austin Ramey 5th. Thank you drivers for continuing to put on a show.

  • Up next was the Rage Jerky Mini Stocks. The field had a strong showing with 19 cars checking into the A-Feature event. It was Tyler Griffitts at the front looking sporty for the first several circuits. After encountering some lap cars the 7 car of Titus Bortzfield and the 18L battling for 2nd appeared to want the same line bringing out the yellow and unfortunately sending Esparza to the rear after some contact. This set up the last few laps for Griffitts and Bortzfield to race for the victory. The battle behind them may have been some of the best racing in the field as Ken Hapy, Dan Kruse and “locally hated”Rustin Allen all traded spots for the last few laps. When the checkered flew it was Titus Bortzfield with the win, Tyler Griffitts 2nd, Dan Kruse 3rd , Rustin Allen 4th, and Ken Hapy for 5th.
The finale of the night started with a beautiful Musco lighting system light show dancing around the 3/8 mile track while the Alternative Pest Management USRA Modifieds paraded around before the drop of the Carrs Plumbing Green flag. The track was in great shape allowing for several lines to get around the speedway. It was the 21c of Cody Schniepp getting out to an early lead, while Brendon Gemmill, Paden Phillips, Dan Powers and Wyatt Gaggero battled for a podium spot. On lap 3 It was the familiar 4 car at the front but it wouldn’t come easy as he fended off Gemmill that figured out another line while searching for a way by the Powers car. PayDay Paden was lurking looking himself for a way back to VL, the race for the lead was epic. At one point the 3 aforementioned went three wide as Paden made it stick in the middle and Dan kept sliding to the top edge and Gemmill working the bottom and any other place he could find. This class of Mods could race anytime and anywhere in the country and be in the front. When it was over Dan Powers in a BOM “loaner car” got it done and looked like a blind man looking for a dime in a bag of pennies trying to remember where the scales were located. Paden Phillips on a last lap pass off of turn 4 beat Gemmill to the stripe for 2nd , Gemmill 3rd, Wyatt Gaggero with a strong 4th, and becoming a regular here at the track Randall Schiffelbein jr for 5th.
We wrapped up before 10:00pm bring the entire family out and enjoy the races!
*Our Next Event is Park City Night on July 13th. Pay attention to see a list of Park City Merchants where you can obtain your Free Grandstand tickets for the event.
