Driver Information

Dustin is the grandson of Knoxville Nationals point system creators and former raceway promoters, the late, great, Ray and Naomi Grimes.

His efforts have earned him the 360 “Lyle Boyd Hard Charger” Award (2009), 360 “Sportsman of the Year” Award (2008) and the 360 “Most Improved Driver” Award (2007). His first career feature win came on Season Championship night in 2007, and to prove it wasn’t a fluke, he followed that up with a June win in 2008 and another tally in August of 2009. He now owns seven career 360 wins at Knoxville.

Dustin moved into the 410 class in 2011, finishing 10th in points. He improved to 9th in 2012, and won the classes’ “Sportsman of the Year” Award. Dustin partnered with Bruce Williams and his #7K in 2013, and the team finished 9th in 410 points, while picking up a 360 win as well. Dustin also finished second in Sprint Invaders points in 2013, and came back in 2014 to finish 14th in 410 standings at Knoxville. In 2015, he returned to the family car, finishing 15th in points despite missing some time with mechanical woes. He improved to 12th in the standings in 2016, in a year he also missed a handful of shows. He was 11th in 2017, and came back in 2022 and 2023 to drive for Bruce Williams. Bruce and Team DGRD will team up for Dustin in 2024.
