Big Plans for 2013 with Riley Erickson!
At only 7-years-old, Riley Erickson has taken Kid Kart Racing by storm. The local superstar finished in the top three of 17 races across the country in 2012, including a second place QUALIFYING EFFORT at the Kid Kart Nationals and numerous wins. Now as she prepares for the 2013 season, she has her eye on that national championship.
While Kid Kart Racing might not be a well-known sport to most, this is not the case in the Erickson home. The 7-year-old grew up hearing stories from her father and grandfather about racing. Both raced at dirt and asphalt tracks all over the mid west including local tracks Like Barberton Raceway Park, Midvale Speedway and Lorain County..
Despite being a male dominated sport, Erickson was determined to give it a try. After several victories at Barberton Speedway, it was clear that she was ready for the big leagues. Now, a regular podium finisher at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex, the first grader has certainly made a name for herself in the sport.
Erickson has big plans for the 2013 season. “It’s amazing to see how far she has come. Just last year I took her to Barberton Speedway to introduce her to Kart Racing. Now she's proved to be one of the best in the country ” Said Erickson’s father, Brian Erickson.
