Kyle Donahue wins in his Vanguard Ford
Kyle Donahue and his Vanguard Ford were both dialed in on Saturday. Kyle swept the heat race and the feature event. Some days things just come together and winning looks easy. Kyle has had a rough start this season but with some adjustments and a significant fix on the car he was in a field of his own on Saturday. Kyle said he had a feeling that morning as we headed out on our 2 ½ hour drive to the track. Well that feeling was a win about to happen. He won the heat race and started mid pack for the feature. Within a short time he was in second place and making the pass for the lead. The car was setup for a clean air run so once he was out of traffic he was gone. Being his spotter and his Dad it was cool to see him perform. A few cautions and a few restarts didn’t shake his focus as he pulled back out to lead each time. His competition was battling hard for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place so as they traded paint he was on cruise control. Congrats to Kyle for a great race, great attitude and bringing home a win. It was an extra special night too because a local group caring for Foster Children came to the track and presented Kyle the trophy. Kyle appreciated that and dedicates his win to them and will be arranging to send autographed tee shirts to them the next time we get to the track.
