A Huge Opportunity
It's hard to believe that the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona is about a month away.
This is a crucial time for me as I prepare for the 2017 season and a switch to IMSA WeatherTech in the brand new The Racer's Group Porsche 911 GT3 R. What I'm aiming for is the full IMSA GTD campaign. This is a huge opportunity to drive for one of the most successful teams and brands -the season is approaching at breakneck speed!
The Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona is our largest race and it's also the first race on the calendar. The team's move back to Porsche is proving to be one of the largest announcements in all of racing this year. TRG has had a track record of success at the Rolex 24, winning four races and achieving 13 podium finishes in 22 Daytona race starts and they will be favorites to make the 2017 contest Daytona win number five. We also snuck in a 24 Hours of LeMans victory back in 2002.
My opportunity to be a part of it is mind-blowing and it was all due to my dedication, hard work and the break-out season I had in 2016.
But, to race, we really need to get our 2017 racing partnerships solidified. And that's the biggest focus for me and for my team right now.
